Just think, on talking it turns out that with minds focussed, the deal ACL offer is better than SISU hoped for.

As a result, SISU rush off the drop the appeal quick before ACL change their mind.

ACL get what they want, SISU get what they want... we get what we want. All because people were in the same room.

Really? This is the first statement from SISU which has been conciliatory in its tone. I hope a deal isn't scuppered by buillish and childish attitudes like "why should we have to compromise?"

Who gives a fuck who has to compromise? The important thing is to get us home.

Just having a little chuckle of the irony of slating an organisation for using a PR firm and also for not using it

People keep focussing on the money as Sisu would like, but what about the legal threats? Telling that that info had to be chased by Simon and wasn't in the press release.

If anything I expect an almost identical statement to last time seeing as their requests haven't been met.

Sisu have dropped the incendiary language (RobS said he'd argued for that in his meeting with Joy) but not changed their position one bit. The supposed willingness for a short term return is nothing is the sort as they're still demanding the things that they were before they left.

As I've said on other threads, SISU should drop the appeal and ACL should accept the FL have the money and that it is down to the FL to release it.

ACL today have kept the same stance as their statement says, drop appeal, pay what's owed.

No compromise = no deal.

What does the owners say - CCC/Higgs?

Statements from the companies ... the club (TF) and ACL ... are pretty useless and nothing but spin. It's what the owners say or not say that is important!

The pay what's owed bit seems likely to happen (once the FL get around to it on the 7th). Down to Sisu to brek a habit of a lifetime and drop the litigation. Allows an opportunity to sit dow and have a realtively straight forward negotiation on a short term deal (it is short term after all). Be surprised if they budged though on their tactics.

The thing is in my opinion sisu are desperate to get away from the Northampton millstone they have round their neck, I am certain they are scambling about looking for a face saving deal. ACL have smelt a chance of securing their £590k money owed to them and rid of the legals and obviously dug their heels in the mud and fair play to them. Time for Fisher and friends to eat some shit.

Until ACL receive a request for talks from sisu they have nothing to respond to. A leaked letter from Fisher to the press is not a request to ACL.
Further more Fisher is not the person who makes sisu's decisions, Seppala is and always will be.

The Sky Blues boss has underlined his belief that a return to the Ricoh Arena is “hugely important” and has called for compromise from all sides in order to find a solution.
Coventry City played all of their “home” games 35 miles away in Northampton last season after a long-running dispute with Ricoh Arena operators ACL.

Speaking during an interview on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire, Pressley said: “There’s a number of factors, we’re all very much aware of that, both sides have gone through a lot in the last 18 months and I just feel that now is the time.
“I don’t think there will be a better time to find a solution to the problem.”

He added: “I think it’s hugely important, I really do. I think that there certainly has to be a solution to the problem.
“If we go another year away from Coventry then you are obviously faced with the prospect of losing another generation of supporters and you just can’t do that at this football club.
“There has to be a solution and there has to be compromise, from both sides, and I certainly hope that can happen because I think from a football perspective it would be a huge lift to us.

“I think, also, it would just re-energise the supporters, bring a real feel good factor back to the city and I think that would bode well for the future - I really hope it happens.”
Pressley also suggested a return to the Ricoh Arena would give the club more clout in the transfer market.
He said: “There’s no doubt about it, for any player coming to Coventry the Ricoh Arena is a big sell and we can’t do that at this moment in time.
“The finances as well. There’s no doubt that the finances of playing your games there would help the club significantly.”

The club’s owners have said they have a proposal to return to the Ricoh Arena - while they look to own their own stadium - “ready to go”.
But ACL has said the company will not discuss the Sky Blues’ return until it receives money it believes it is owed by the club’s owners and an appeal against a judgment in the recent judicial review is dropped by Sisu.

Club officials have indicated they will not drop their appeal - but the Football League is set to decide on the issue of money owed during a board meeting on August 7.

As stubborn as Scrotium have been for the past 2 years, the latest 2 statements I believe are the 1st signs of them waving the white flag and running back sheepishly with their tails between their legs. ACL hold the trump card now, they hold the demands and quite rightly aren't budging until they get what they are owed and are back on level footing i.e. with no potential further legal action hanging over them. Had Joy and co. won the JR, there would be no hope in hell that these statements would have been released. Their position is slowly weakening, but someone must force their hand now.

Ideally, the Football League should get their fingers out of their backsides and get the ball rolling by offering to act as an independent mediator. They have been a useless pile of dung in this mess, had we been higher up in the football league food chain, our position would have been in the spotlight far more as would their inability to do anything worthwhile.

It's now or never; we cannot possibly wait until the convenience of the FL's AGM to discuss this debacle a mere 2 days before the start of the season. One part of the problem can be easily rectified by these geriatric tossers getting round the table for 5 minutes and declaring that yes as per the agreement made during last Summer's Administration process, £590k is actually recoverable by ACL!

The emphasis is now back on SISU to drop this doomed appeal. Perhaps they are aware that they are fighting a lost cause. Hopefully Judge Heckingbottom can do us one final favour and reject their Appeal!

I cannot see this being sorted by the start of the season unfortunately..ego's will surely get in the way even if they do decide to talk!

But time is marching on and the start of the season is only a few weeks away. Under FL rules you have to play all your matches in a season at the same ground. So once we play one match at Northampton then we are doomed and there can be no return to the Ricoh this season.

They've confirmed that's not the case now, a move can take place even if the first game is in Northampton.

That's good news then. Here's hoping.

Oh yeah I forgot they can change their own meaningless rules 'at the board's discretion'. For once, it may work in our favour! If they got their arses in gear in the 1st place there perhaps wouldn't be this issue anyway! They are one of the core reasons a return in time for the 1st game of the season is in jeopardy!

Listening to Pressley this morning, I think it'll be a massive blow to him if it becomes clear a return isn't gonna happen this season. He doesn't strike me as somebody who'd just quit, and given his modest playing career financially that probably wouldn't be an option anyway but he now seems to realize if the club is stuck in Northampton for much longer, there probably isn't gonna be anything to bring a club back to. Fans are turning off in their droves.

I think they are stuffed.. see how SISU are startling to squirm now they are faced with an impossible situation and hardball tactics. They have lost the initiative & the plot.

They will be forced to drop the litigation or stay on at Sixfields, that is the way it is. That decision is up to them.

Guess it depends on how keen ACL are to use the stadium.

Perhaps once a year for done sad freaks to get their kit off is all they think it's worth.
