Pressley Quote (2 Viewers)

"I have to think about the best way we can utilise our resources because playing at Northampton is VERY DIFFICULT. How long before he gets another job?

saw a stat at the weekend that Pressley is our 3rd longest serving manager since we came down from Prem, behind Adams and Coleman.

He has already outlasted the likes of Nillson, McCallister, Heath, Black, Reid, Dowie, Boothroyd, Thorn, Shaw, Robins et al

Moussa has said playing at Sixfields wasn't good and now Pressley is saying the same thing.Wish the whole team would get together and stage a walk out saying get back to the Ricoh or stuff your football club. You watch the cronies in charge of this mess suddenly get round the table and get it sorted !

Will never happen but there have been a few comments dropped throughout the season that give a good indication that the players aren't too happy playing at Sixfields in front of small crowds. Lots of comments about it being like pre-season, understand why the fans stay away etc.

Coventry City were banned from European Cup games in the 80's..and it wasn't their fault!...An old saying hill83...What you haven't had, you haven't missed.

It's an option that hasn't been tried. SP and the players hate it at Sixfields(According to reports) it is one form of showing solidarity against playing out of the City of Coventry. Have you got any ides about what to do?

The rumblings from Pressley and other players will grow.
They don't like it one bit at Northampton. That's obvious.
Hopefully Elvis will be telling the board just badly Sixfields is impacting on his plans.

Why does JM (sorry that's Joe Murphy) want a new contract then?

I don't think that will make any difference, Spionkop. Playing in Northampton is part of their plans regardless of the impact on the team.

Perhaps he is happy living in area and does not fancy up rooting his family and moving again... could be as simple as that.

It's perfectly reasonable for Murphy to want to stay with the club while also hating that we're at Sixfields. It's not like it's a black and white issue in that regard.

Grendal, you go to Northampton dont you ?

Surely you dont like it and would rather be in Coventry, but go as you want to watch CCFC ?

Is that not similar to Murphy wanting to stay at the club, "despite" us being at Northampton, as opposed to "because of it" ?

For security, he has bills to pay. Even if he signs it doesn't mean he stays, just puts him in a stronger negotiating position. A safety net.

Come on Grendal you are not that dumb.

Is it because he's RFC in disguise and wants the club to stay in suxfields forever. In fact I reckon the whole team is RFC in disguise and any reports in the press are just where playing staff have been misquoted (sorry that's sarcasm).

...but there is no reason any player would not keep looking for a new club, especially during the close season? After all we are in the 3rd tier - how much worse could it be for any of them to find such a club elsewhere?
Combine that with players thinking twice before joining us and you may have a net loss of the squad making it almost impossible to compete in the league.
The idea we can stay at Sixfield's as Coventry City FC is debilitating beyond any financial concerns. It's unsustainable to expect it to continue. One more season at best, if you are lucky at Sixfield's and SISu better have a plan in place to be back at the Ricoh by then or at a new 'fantasy' ground.
