Prices can go up as well as down (6 Viewers)

Well a good few people think we have a strict transfer policy where we can only now buy to improve and profit. Here is my take on most of the current squad regarding making money at this moment in time:
Dovin, Asante, Bassette, Rudoni, Binks, Raphael too early to judge Neutral.
Up in price as free transfers although possible small fee only: Bidwell, Wilson.
Up in price as free transfer or small compensation fee but a better fee: JDS, Lati.
Up in price from Academy: Eccles.
Large rise in value: MVE, Haji Wright, Sheaf.
Slight rise in value: Tatsu, Allen, Simms.
No change: Collins, Thomas,
Down in value: Kitching, EMC, Torp.
This is only my opinion regarding this moment in time and form as I see it since they have joined the club. Some will go up, others down. Injuries have an impact (see Tatsu).
My take so far is don't buy L1 players for over £4 million.

" Down in Value" Kitching, EMC, Torp.

Still have Time to Improve.

EMC has taken a step up in career and will take time for him to adjust, you get far less freedom and time in the championship, regardless of how good you are. I trust he’ll come good once he’s up to speed and had a good run of minutes.

It took Haji a good run of game time to get up to speed and adapt, now I’d put him up there with anyone in this division going forward.

Im not ready to discount Torp either, he’s definitely shown glimpses of being a very good player last season and has also been here a very short time in a new country, and one of the most competitive leagues in the world.

Plus, the profits we could potentially make on MVE and Haji alone will dwarf a decent proportion of our spend and should allow for more reinvestment in the future.

Seems some people are taking their frustrations on the debacle in midfield out on players who have barely been here a calendar year.

EMC has to improve I think. He came fairly highly rated so hasn’t just turned into a poor player. He needs something good to happen to him to give him confidence .
A goal or decent assist will do wonders 🤞

Or the gap between the leagues is genuinely big and he will need time to adapt.

I think @blunted is right tbf, if you look at the current value of the players rather than speculating on what they could make, then Kitching is worth nowhere near what we paid for him, same for Torp, he’s alright but he’s no better than average for this league. EMC I agree is too early to call but Kitching and Torp have been here long enough to make a reasonable assessment on them. All 3 of them have potential to improve, Torp for example has a wonder-strike on him but needs to pick up on his movement and awareness a bit.

As for Dasilva, Lati, Allen and Bidwell, if we did get any fee for them it’d be so minute that it’s basically negligible. The real money is in Van Ewijk first and foremost, then Sheaf, Haji and Simms.

EMC looks amazing when played in his preferred (I would assume) left side position

He’s definitely better on the left.

He needs time to adjust to playing at a higher level but I think he will. He has strength and pace which are key attributes.

He's got something for sure he is fast but not super fast and when he starts believing in himself and maybe get a goal or 2 he will become a firm favourite

On reflection, this thread would have been better served much later in the season.
Almost impossible to predict how players will progress at this stage.
Even Vic and Gus started slowly and many people on here were criticising Sheaf.
The only thing I would say is, that at over £4 million a piece Kitch and EMC should be showing so much in training that they start league matches.
Early days for EMC, we will see.

Highlighted is correct. EMC's best position is where we play £7m Wright so in terms of cost Wright should be ahead of him. Kitching has simply been stymied by being suspended at the start of the season and by his replacement Binks having a half decent start to the season. There's a long way to go in this season yet!

Robins needs to give him a few games on the left and we will see there is a player there👍

With a new Manager (sorry Head Coach) I wonder where the value of players stands now.
Bassette had a great game yesterday but can't be judged on one game and a few OK sub appearances.
A fit Haji has gone up in price.
Taking out free transfers and home grown talent (Eccles), can't think of a player that has increased dramatically in value.
MVE has been poor this season, Tatsu is still not back to his best following injuries and Sheaf is suffering from not being fully fit.
Lot of potential not realised.
Interesting to see how new person has improved our players at the end of the season.
