Whilst that's laudable, it's still not the club. No part of SBITC's remit is to promote CCFC, that's CCFCs job.
The club might put up players to go to SBITC events but it's not and never will be enough to just have that as your community effort.
I've also recently found out that SBITC are based at the Ricoh and pay their own rent.

Can't be true, Nick Eastwood, David Armstrong and Derek Richardson were surely there manning the stall? And?
It was Wasps Community at Bedworth Park, their charitable arm. Don't see anybody moaning about that?

That's a very interesting point Mark. Thanks for contributing. Do you think the club are doing just fine as they are then?Yaaaawwwwwnnnnnn
Must. Find. Any. Stick. To. Beat. The. Club. With.
Bore off.
Yes, but Wasps Community is funded (in part) by Wasps. £117k last year. CCFC make no notable financial contribution to SBITC. Before you start going on about players time etc again, Wasps players do the same (according to their Charity Commission accounts).

From the very first post I made on this site, I've stated that I want the club to do more for its fans and the community as a whole. Claiming SBITC as the paragon of all the good things the CCFC is a misnomer and factually wrong. However, this is what CA did. And?
I think you seem to take it as people giving Joy and Tim a pat on the back for SBITC. It is far from it.

I want the club to do more and even posted up some ideas. Wasps seem to be better at this and it pisses me off.
I bet all the kids checked to see where the funding was coming from before they accepted a Wasps flag :facepalm:Yes, but Wasps Community is funded (in part) by Wasps. £117k last year. CCFC make no notable financial contribution to SBITC.
So you've taken the half year turnover figure, multiplied it by 2 and made the assumption that their turnover will be £30m? That doesn't work - they've said themselves that a large portion of that is due to the acquisition of the stadium. Also, regardless of turnover, they're still turning an operating loss. Don't let the facts get in the way here though will you.Wasps have a turnover of £30m, we have a turnover of around £4.5-5m. Guess who has more resource to do PR and community engagement?

We put in 0% of our turnover, Wasps put in more - not much granted, but it's still more. I want CCFC to do more. Does anyone here really think they do enough?
I will. I want them to do more and I'm willing to be vocal about it.Carry on beating the club

In a quiz of CCFC fans wonder who would know that -- or care?Yes, but Wasps Community is funded (in part) by Wasps. £117k last year. CCFC make no notable financial contribution to SBITC. Probably not many Grendel, but I cared enough to look it up.In a quiz of CCFC fans wonder who would know that -- or care?
Wasn't a rent strike the thing that got us into this mess in the first place?Maybe if we weren't paying Wasps they wouldn't have £100K to give their community team and we'd be able to afford to give £100K to ours.
Probably not many Grendel, but I cared enough to look it up.
I also care enough to have written to the marketing manager at CCFC to ask for some more information about their plans. In a similar vein, I've also written to my Councillors to ask them what they're doing to keep to the promises made when the Ricoh was sold to Wasps. You can snipe away at me all you want - I'll be damned if I'm just going to sit back and watch my club die.
https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-hornby-930a294bWho is the marketing manager?
I haven't written to him about this specific event. And what do you expect him to do? If I was his manager and he'd asked to spend budget at this event I would have said no
Grendal just a tiny amount on these sort of events £100 or so. This would probably be the whole budget for the year.Does anybody know how much is spent on marketing in a year .
I haven't written to him about this specific event.
Below is my mail.
"I’m involved in a number of online discussions as the moment about the club, its Marketing activities and the obvious comparisons that are being drawn with what Wasps are doing.
As a CCFC fan since birth as have a concern that Wasps are stealing a march on the current and future fan base of CCFC and at several events I’ve been to and been told about, Wasps have had a presence and have been handing out flags and the like to young kids to build up their fan base. Now of course, there is a chance that a young child might end up supporting both Wasps and CCFC and buying tickets for both, but there will be many whose first experience of professional sport will now be to watch Wasps and not our club.
Whilst I appreciate that SBITC is a fine organisation that uses the CCFC brand and assets (such as the players) to do community work, its aim is not to promote CCFC (although it will indirectly). The club’s JSB programme is laudable and the provision of free tickets is a great thing, but Wasps young memberships are free and they get to go to the game for free as well.
I’d be very interested to find out what more the club are planning on doing to promote CCFC to its potential fan base. You might be doing a lot already, but other than SBITC posts on the club website, there’s not much other specific stuff about promoting CCFC outside of their activities. If you’re able to share or publish what things are being done, I’d be very appreciative."
It's also known as Spam.So you don't include any e mail, DM or text messaging to existing database (which I believe is well in excess of 50,000) as marketing?
No mention of the Christmas parties and jsb stuff? It's also known as Spam.
OK, you can class that as marketing if you want, but the point I was specifically making was about young fans, most of whom won't be on email or text. I'm sure you'll point our some nuance to this post from me as well just so you can have the last word.
Free tickets to schools doesn't cost the club anything, or am I missing something. No but it's a percent of revenue and given the free tickets to schools programme the cost is clearly a lot more than £100 per year.
I've asked them to tell me Nick. I'm not party to what they have done, but if they are doing good work, isn't it clear from my mail I'd like them to be more vocal about it?No mention of the Christmas parties and jsb stuff?
Surely you know about the parties and jsb stuff though? (The matchday is more down to the hard working volunteers)I've asked them to tell me Nick. I'm not party to what they have done, but if they are doing good work, isn't it clear from my mail I'd like them to be more vocal about it?
Yes, I specifically mention the JSBs, but I didn't think I needed to go through everything I knew existed. It would now appear that you're unhappy that I didn't. I'll get over it.Surely you know about the parties and jsb stuff though?
£25 for a season ticket, jsb membership for a year isn't really bad at all is it?Yes, I specifically mention the JSBs, but I didn't think I needed to go through everything I knew existed. It would now appear that you're unhappy that I didn't. I'll get over it.
