Is it so wrong to be proud of the council/ACL
for the actions they have taken so far.

Firstly the council saving the Ricoh deal when it was about to fail.
Then offering the club a sliding scale rent dependant on league and attendances which was rejected.

If the rumours are true after years of regression under SISU when faced with owners not paying their bills. Making an attempt to take the situation head on that hopefully would have led to new owners.

Then standing up to an administration process that was in their opinion flaws. Surely the easy thing to do would be accept the administration decision. Getting the money back and not looking like the bad guy when the points deduction occurs. Instead they stood their ground protesting against a flawed process.

Despite all this and lots of provocation they have made various offers to get the club back. Including a temporary rent free offer.

Now with all this pressure surely the easiest thing to do would be to crumble to whatever SISU demand. Yet they are still prepared to fight it out and not be bullied by a moraless hedge fund.

Some of their decisions have affected me personally in a negative way, yet I can't help taking my hat off to them and feel proud that little Coventry Council and a local charity are prepared to take on a global hedge fund.

Yes I do believe you can have it all support your team, support your council and do not want your clubs owners to stick around.

This one ranks up there with your, move Nuneaton to the Ricoh, and your Andy Thorn would have been a world beater with west ham crap.

He actually did one that said Leicester would be 10 points better off with thorn as well.

I wouldn't use the word proud. All they are doing is looking after their own property like they have to do by law. But they did our club a massive favour by not leaving our club homeless. I bet they wish they hadn't bothered. I am starting to wish they hadn't. We would have found somewhere a lot closer than Northampton to play and SISU might have fucked off by now without a pot of gold to rip off CCC and a charity from.

And such a shock to see who the posters are that posted straight after you :thinking about:

I'm proud of anyone who has the balls to stand up to large corporate interests and Fisher's muckraking campaign to be honest.

And I'm sure if you were to spout something considered anti-SISU etc etc, there would be the same following of people following your posts, would there not?

Not sure why you're pointing out that a number of people on a public forum have differing views...quite antagonistic?

Isn't that what a forum's all about? (apart from the inevitable trolls....)

i hate sisu - but council are no better

is it really right for a council to be happy that the 9th largest city in england doesnt have a football team, and the associated revenues that brings?

I wouldn't use the word "Proud" if I were you, it's inconceivable that this situation has ever reached this point and I am talking about both sides, there is nothing to be "proud" of at all.

This forum's kind of killing the definition of what trolling actually is. While they do exist here, it's really not just 'every person I disagree with'

Who said that the council are happy?

I suppose you say that it all should just be handed to SISU's investors so they can shaft us even more. If not what do you say that CCC should do to bring our club home?

Facts like Juke being loaned out you mean?

Are you saying he wasn't loaned out?

We all know you don't know what the meaning of fact is Grendull. Even visiting fans from other clubs that come on here tell you that you haven't got a clue and are full of shit.

I agree with the OP. Good points and well made. Im not so much proud as it shouldn't have come to this but we as in CCC because we are hopefully mostly cov people that we don't not sell to sisu under any circumstance as this is the long term with hurt more. Sisu and ccfc need the ricoh more than ccc need ccfc imo but obviously they need eachother in truth but I back ccc to succeed than ccfc at the current situation.

ccfc will continue infront of 1500 fans and ccc can do whatever they want with the ricoh and surrounding area to make money i.e hotels etc. I know who I would rather be.

Surely you just want the best for the club though? Who cares if the council build a hotel?

Wasn't he emergency loaned out for one game because he didn't sign for Middlesbrough in time to play their next game and then signed the next day?

Or is there some other deeper meaning to this argument that pops up in every single thread?
There pair of you need to get your own chat room.

Oh...and isn't changing a forum members name to include the word 'dull' a little underhand? You articulate yourself well sometimes Astute and although I disagree with many things your write, I at least command the fact that you back up your points pretty meaningfully (despite others potentially picking holes in parts - not saying they're correct or not).

But by calling a fellow forum member 'Dull', you're probably the last person who should be mentioning anything other posters and when they post.

A little disrepectful in my opinion.
