Sure i answered this earlier, never mind!
I spent a few early years living down the dales, used to have great fun riding the coal trucks to keresley, dossing on the tracks and hanging around the old gass works, could crawl throught the pipes into bigger holding tanks (not the main ones), used to have candles n cushions, it was our den a little hide away (id be scared shitless to think mine or anyone elses kids might be doing some of the stuff we did as kids). It was a dangerous hell hole, Add to that the scrap yards the gypsies and the general unsightly mess of the site, seriously, no brainer for me.
Its like HR, it has all the memories, all the history, but it is just that, history, the arena and all it brings to the city is something to be proud of, theres no question for me proud or not? Proud all day long!
That will be Tim and co trying to coax people into there so called world class shed we can all be proud of in beduff.
Well the car wash is the only thing that makes any money at sixfields got to get that shit off your car some how . Maybe that is what they meant by got to be used 24-7
Mmmm, I know Highfield Road wasn't uniform which added to it's charm, but flicking through some photo's I took at the last ever game there, reminded me there were some things I actually did feel embarrassed about. Mostly the bloody supporting pillars in the Sky Blue and East stand which prohibited the view. I think if we had of maintained top flight status, we would have seen that we did actually need to move to the Ricoh, as we would be getting gates regularly exceeding that of HR.
Driving home from France last week. Went past the RICOH and saddened to think CCFC not there presently. The RICOH is much better than the old Foleshill gasworks used to look and I used to live at the back on Elmsdale Avenue from birth to 1964.

Yep. Quite a few naff things about HR. Poor atmosphere, pillars, mismatched stands. I Liked it cos it was our home, but feel the Ricoh is 10 times the stadium that HR could ever be.
