CET suggesting we 'may' offer him a contract. What are people's thoughts on that?

For me, he did very little to impress in his time with us.

Could he make a difference over a full season? Difficult to say. His experience around te training ground may be beneficial, but do we want to pay someone a footballers wage just to be a 'presence'? I don't think we can afford that

I thought he did OK. I'd rather have him in the team than Thomas so I'm all for signing him.

Offering is one thing, acceptance is another.

I'd guess they need an experienced Captain, as Murphy looks set to go to Huddersfield.

Can't see anything wrong in this move, provided he doesn’t do a 'Sherwood' or 'O'Neil' & be permanently injured.

Pressley has several other targets this summer as he looks to bring in two new strikers, one or two attackers who can operate in the wide areas, a holding midfielder, and possibly a goalkeeper depending on whether out-of-contract Joe Murphy leaves the club.

concerns me massively that they haven't mentioned anything regarding defenders...

Yeah, forgot he was Captain, cause I only go to home games.. I think Murph was captain a few times lat season though wasn't he?

Anyway, Prutton is more Captain material than Baker if you ask me.

Yeah Murphy was vice-captain and wore the armband quite a bit, apart from the one disastrous game where Pressley have it to Seabourne. Still not sure how or why that happened

My thoughts copied from the CT comments...

Signing up Prutton wouldn't be a bad idea at all. He had a fairly decent loan spell and I would hazard a guess that he would contend for the captaincy next season. A couple of senior pro's are what's needed to aid the development of the young guns, although I'm sure that past experience of players looking for one last payday will undoubtedly cloud a proportion of fans initial view that this will be a success (Sherwood and Kilbane spring to mind).

I think the rest of the positions mentioned by Andy Turner are spot on. I'm hopeful that Phillips and Willis will come of age next year supplemented by Adams at left back. I just hope that SP plays people in their natural positions, particularly if everyone is fit.

Centre half remains a key position for concern and was without doubt our downfall last season. It's time for Jordan Clarke to hit the road I'm afraid, he's no right back let alone a centre half, despite people claiming he's had a 'good' season. I'm sure someone in the conference will take him if desperate. Seabourne plus a.n.other with Willis and Webster as back up should be sufficient.

Persistent rumours surrounding Kris Boyd refuse to go away due to SP's Scottish links and what a coup that would be! However, I remain pessimistic and will do so until I see that 1st team sheet of the season. Here's hoping Scrotium can prove me wrong for the 1st time ever! (Highly unlikely)

he improved from crap to ok, i agree he should not be centre half and i would not be gutted to see him leave tbh.

We won't be seeing any defenders. We've got Philips,Adams, Webster, Seaborne, Clarke, Willis, Urquhart, Haynes all able to play. That's far better than our midfield or attacking options.

Prutton would be a decent signing IMO, need some experience in there and seemed to settle in before. We can't exactly be choosers under FFP at Sixfields.

I'd be happy with Prutton. Was disappointed initially but seemed to improve the longer he was here. CET spot on about other loanees. Not impressed with Delfouneso,McGeouch or Robinson. Not particularly impressed with Marshall either. Runs round a lot then shoots over the bar!! Not optimistic at this point but may feel different in 11 weeks time pending on fall out after JR and new signings (if any!!)

Waste of a contract for me, did nothing to impress during his time here on loan he can however cover a couple of positions and there is always the old chestnut of he brings experience.

I think he would be a good addition he breaks the play up and does the dirty work a player we need because no other player consistently offers that role to us at the moment good addition #PUSB !

What we need is whoever negotiates on behalf of Notts County. Apparently, they've talked Alan Smith into signing for them and he doesn't know what he's going to be paid! Now, I'm no expert, but if ever SISU need to find a way to balance the player budget, sign up the Notts County negotiator.......mind you, I wouldn't have wasted any of our 'budget' on Alan Smith :D

Might be ok but still think there is better on the freebie list,
Thought kris Boyd was coming on Wednesday? As well

What I find worrying for us, is that there is this freebie list of out of contract players and people on here have rightly spotted a dozen - let's get generous and push it to twenty - half decent players available. If we ignore the Premier League (who aren't going to need to shop at Aldi) and ignore say 50% of the Championship, that still leaves about 35 other Championship/League 1 (ignoring the Lutons and Portsmouths of L2) who are going to be looking at these and offering them contracts before we're past the JR etc. I think we're going to be looking at the stuff they leave in the bin outside Aldi marked 'past sell by date', rather than anything off the proper shelves :thinking about:.

Love to be proved wrong :D

If we are going to be fielding a lot of kids next season it could be handy to have an experienced head in the midfield, however did not see him play to see if the legs had gone/are going or not.
