I'm envious of all you that have never seen Withnail and I... must have watched it 10 times and still enjoy it... but to see it for the first time would be a real treat.
I must be into the teens at least for withnail viewings. The dialogue is poetry. I just love it.

I’d say can we do them as a proper pub quiz where we put answers and then wait to mark them all, but people would just cheat. Bit annoyed that by the time I realised the thread was up most of the questions had been answered already.
Really good quizzes though. Top work.
Yeah I knew you would have got it... you once picked up on a quote I used here many years ago: 'you can stick it up your arse and fuck off while you're doing it' - if I recall correctly.
A particular favourite of mine that one, but there are so many brilliant quotes from Withnail. While we are on Danny, I always loved 'quite freaked me at the time; I was gonna cook onions'
Did many get the Apocalypse Now quote? Another of my favourite movies.
Nobody got it
It just takes me back to the Air Cav choppers playing Ride of the Valkyries. That has got to be one of the best sequences in movie history. The Robert Duvall character (what was his name?) is so brilliant.
I haven’t even looked at the question but that is a great answer!21 Secret of Monkey Island
Dunno the name. Wagner (Ride of the ...) was an answer in Quiz 1. Another film I've watched several times - that opening sequence with the helicopter/fan noise and The Doors is brilliant... as is the mystical ambience of Colonel Kurtz's camp. I read somewhere that it was so dark because Marlon Brando was embarrassed by his weight.
Feeling his pain! But yes... I love the opening shots too; might visit it again tonight. You into Kubrick? I love Full Metal Jacket too
Quite like those three colours moviesUp to a point... I like 2001 A Space Odyssey - not Full Metal Jacket so much. The director I really love is Krzysztof Kieslowski. He did a TV series called the 10 Commandments (Dekalog) before the Three Colours movies. It's my definition of perfect cinema/TV
