Given one of last threads not sure great timing for this.

Do not get to as many Cov games as would like but dragging three neutrals up to Ricoh for game on 11th April.
Getting into Cov statiion just gone 11ish.....I need some pints to watch what we serve up nowadays. Normally crawl round a few of
City Centre pubs - Oak/Phoenix/Cross etc....before grabbing cab from centre to Ricoh.

Just wondering is there any alternative in terms of a pub crawl nearer the gorund.....? Any suggestions welcomed don;t get me wrong can
make do with town but quite a few pubs closed and seems very quiet compared to the old days and crawling up road to Highfield,

Is City Centre crawl still best or are there any better alternatives? Cheers for any feedback,

There's pubs on Foleshill Road, I normally park at the pub next to the fire station and wander up, you come out round the back of Tesco and can then either go through Tesco or along the canal. Don't go in the pubs as I'm always driving so no idea what they're like.

The Greyhound and Bull & Anchor are pretty good for ones quite close to the Ricoh.

The area around CV6 isn't exactly blessed with great options, as NW suggests The Greyhound is excellent but a bit far out, the Bull is OK, especially if you fancy a cheap bite to eat. Personally I'd stay in town. They have just spent a few quid on the 'Phoenix' and The Whitefriars is just down from that. Also walking distance from there is 'The Establishment', not even sure if 'The Golden Cross' is worth a look, always looks dead but all told Town is a better option if arriving by train.

Cheers Folks......was at Cov uni in the 90's might be rose tinted spectacles but pubs seem to have gone downhill in recent times.
Pubs seemed either closed or empty.

Phoenix will always be known as Colin Campbell to me but if in City will definitely check it out and probably then go next door to oak

Miss the Golden Cross & Newt and Cucumber being open and Silver Sword though think this is not Drapers and even disappointed
to see Rocket closed used to have some good pool tables in there.

May do some city centre pubs then try some others ....would like to say looking forward to game itself...but I can;t will be too nervous.

Have good Easter's!

I think this is where the Ricoh train station will really come into its own. Few beers in town, train to the ground into the casino then the game.

Pubs
1) the spongate.
2) ardvark
3) inspire
4) the squirell
5) establishment
