He was on the radio the other week patronising the fans with comments like "Would you accept a bid of one pound for your house?"

Well let's consider extending the analogy that he chose.
"Would you go running to The Sun newspaper with a written offer from someone who expressed an interest in buying your house? Or would you try and do things in private to avoid embarrassing the potential purchaser?"

You're right, it should be done in private.

In fact, until this week i had had no inkling whatsoever that some Hoffman bloke was even interested in buying the club.

Why had nobody mentioned it before? You'd have thought that the CET might have mentioned it at least.

Yes, Hoffman kept his illegal bid very quiet.

If someone was about to set fire to my house, I might tell someone

Hoff, i not buying the club he has brought potential investors to talks ..... Its them who were trying to be protected, so stop diggin at a FAN who is trying to make a difference to the club he loves. Other than a consultant who is draggin our club so deep down that we may never get back up, for what can only be for selfish means !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rushden & Diamonds went under and they are bigger than Pompey.

Truth is: one day a club will go under. Do we really want to take that risk?

If the takeover bid contravened rules, it really doesn't matter who said what, it wouldn't have gone through.

Someone else with no sense of irony. Oh dear.

Either way, administration is a risky business. You are all assuming that someone will come in to buy the club.

Maybe they will but there is no guarantee.

Sooner or later, a league club will go out of business. And there is no reason why it won't be Coventry City

One way or another they would of found out the bid was illegal, I'm glad this has been found out now and not further down the line.

How you can moan about ken going to the press when thats what Hoffman has done that for the last 4 months.

Theres a difference between declaring your interest in making a bid..... and the owner leaking details . It shows a complete lack of class, KEN IS A DISGRACE OF A HUMAN BEING, nevermind disgrace of a Chairman.

Ken's only trying to protect his job as chairman of this football club. We should stop picking on him he has a family to care for back in Portugal guy's!
If he lost this job no-one else would employ him.

SISU OUT and when they go Ken you can still work on the cashless payment stand :guitar2:

You've also described him as a cancer elsewhere, maybe save the hyperbole for a situation it fits?

Rhythm is also a kind of cancer, as well as being a dancer apparently.

Well evidence would suggest otherwise...

Look, here's the thing that doesn't fit with me: If Ken Bruce wasn't involved and the whole thing is a non-story, then why pull the bid?

If, as Hoffman claims, the actual investors were leaked and contacted by the media, why has none of their names come out in the press? Why only Ken Bruce? Surely they'd at least get a mention.

From day 1 Hoffman has been dodgy: doing business through the press, vague claims as to what he will do upon a takeover, playing to fans emotions rather than giving hard details. Say what you like about SISU but they were FAR more professional when they bid for the club than Hoffman has been, yet apparently they're "jokers" and "clowns" and Hoffman is "a serious business man who wouldn't make stupid mistakes".

The whole thing is a farce comparable to the Dhinsa mess. In fact it's almost identical down to the bid being withdrawn and the board being blamed. If it was ever going to happen we wouldn't have had the soap opera of the last few months.

Not sure any of us know the real truth here. Lots of speculation for sure, but do any of us really know? Both scenario's are quite possible here, 1. That the bid was as some of the press have been saying down to the Alladyce factor, or 2. That the investors pulled the plug after it all going public.

Who knows. Fact is, anyone who saw the Channel 4 documentary on buying football clubs will know that the investigators on there had real trouble trying to find out who any owner or investor was of any English football club. Lots of dodgy money about in football and I'm sure there are plenty of people who do not want people to know what they own or what they are investing in.

As I say, tis all speculation on here.

I remain on the fence with this one. Really don't know what the real 'truth' is.

But Otis, if it was pulled because the investors became public, tell me who the investors are. You don't know, I don't know, no-one knows, because they're not public.

Orange ken broke the agreement as soon as he came out of the meeting with his statement!

Then name dropped the next day!

He knew what he was doing!

I have to agree, it seemes a little cynical the way he conveniently name dropped....could be concidence though, but the way Dulieu has conducted himself makes people suspect his motives

I feel that Hoof has called SISU's bluff.Hoff's is quite rightly peeved due to the name being revealed, which was totally against the confidentiality agreement, and thought that an ultimatum was needed to get rid of SISU once and for all,by saying either take my bid or lose a few million more running the club until season end.
Tanned Ken should never have revealed the name and he knew that as he is a smarmy bastard of the highest order, his reputation goes before him,ask Southampton how he nearly destroyed them. Hoff is just trying to push SISU into a corner until they finally realise that it's us or nothing, as no-one else is out there interested in buying us.
Stay positive Hoff will come through and sooner rather than later.
Just my opinion

Yes I expected this move to come about, however if the bid is illegal I think its dead in the water

I think after the comments about hoff trying to de-stabilise the club it's clear Sisu simply don't want to deal with Hoffs consortium, this was the perfect chance for them to foil it to ensure it is not their fault the deal didn't happen.

We may get some clarity of sorts from the club and Hoffman later but it must be said that these feeble excuses about investors names being revealed should result in the whole thing being called off is a joke. Hoffman's precarious bid was nothing more than that and so called investors withdrawing from under him only indicate they were never fully committed in the first place and more likely were only interested if the Ricoh Arena was available.
I suspect SISU have always thought it to be so and flushing Hoffman out ends the silly saga.

I cant see gh being so stupid to submit a bid on letterheaded paper with the company where big sam is a director!

Surely a man of his calibre wouldnt be so silly?
