Question for SCG (1 Viewer)

Could the trust put this question to the SCG please.

Did Mr Ward and Strange see documentation that shows the club have been in discussions with the highways agency (this is no longer covered by confidentiality) As the club themselves have said it is.

If they had it would help clear up a lot of questions created by the FOI requests.

If they have not please could the SCG as the club why the FOI requests suggest the club have not been in consultation with the highways agency

You do not have to talk to anyone to be able to purchase a piece of land. You can apply for permission retrospectively, getting the permissions is another thing. The company buying the land will be far removed as possible from Sisu, that's the way they layer their company's to try and be discreet in a business sense. If the package of land is already in private ownership it would be extremely difficult to find anything out.

I agree with you. However someone in the 'Coventry Area' under whatever company name has been consulting with the highways agency about building a new stadium.
I can't imagine many people in the 'Coventry area' are currently consulting with the highways agency about building a new stadium.

So if Mr Strange and Mr Ward sure documents that proved this to be correct. Then that is good enough for me.

If they haven't then the question needs to be asked why the Highways Agency are saying consultation hasn't happened. The club has said it had so I am sure there is a reasonable explanation and it is question worth raising so it can be put to bed

I hope I have it wrong but the club does not seem to keen to deal with the CET and the trust because they ask challenging questions. They have chosen the SCG so if that's the best way to get an answer I thought it might be worth a go?

The SCG is a stitch up between Ward and Strange that obfuscates discussion that gets to the most important issue for fans. A vote of no confidence should be passed in those two and people truly representative of the fanbase put in their place.

Have the trust received an acknowledgment from CCFC that they have got your letter?
Just wondering, because as part of the Sky Blues Charter they produced last week it stated that they had to try and respond initially to all correspondence within ten days.....

It shouldn’t be necessary to ask the question - I think the club’s silence on this matter is disgraceful, and it fits in with a long-term pattern of revelling in causing confusion and division. This whole FOI thing has been affecting the club’s reputation for a year or more now, and they should put it to bed by making a clear public statement explaining the apparent discrepancy. There would be no need to reveal anything commercially sensitive - just an explicit confirmation that discussions have been held with local authorities and the Highways Agency, but that the FOI requests haven’t picked them up because they have been too narrowly worded.

I’m assuming, of course, that that is actually the case …

Can the trust suggest that someone independent, maybe the Dean of Coventry, signs a confidential agreement and is then given full view of all the information SISU have regarding the new ground. He can then report back, without revealing any confidential details, if he believes there is a new ground project in progress and if it is how far advanced it is.

There is a huge assumetion that SISU, or one of its many divisions or CCFC are trying to b.uy and or build a standrum on a piece of land.

My thinking is either (and this is my thinkinmake on things from deepest darkest Essex)

1. A third party is buying the land for a major retailer, the stadium complex will be part of this land., therefore FOI requests will come up negative.

2 (AND THIS FITS SISU's business model) Brum CC need to raise funds and are trying to sell off the NEC and land, Blue noses are also in financial trouble, due to owner, it would make sense (in SISU's eyes, but not to any football fan) to build a new stadium at NEC for both teams to share, SISU then get to sell off chunks of NEC.

Note, not for both1 minute would I support option 2 or option 1 for that matter, but it might answer some of the confusion, but I pray I'm wide of thihe mark

You would not buy a plot of land for this type of development on the speculative hope permissions would be granted.

I think that was in the open letter that the Trust sent last year (last year said for dramatic effect ) which I asked about earlier in this thread and Steve come back and confirmed that no reply has been received from SISU or the club.

IIRC the original letter went out at the end of November. To my knowledge they're yet to receive an acknowledgment yet alone any answers.
