Just another reason (not that any more are needed) that modern football is shit.

Jumped up little twat turns down £100k per week to paly for one of real big clubs of Europe (not one of these jonny-cum-lately outfits like Chelsea or man city) and turns his nose up, stating its not about the money, but about winning trophies.......my hairy arse!

Carragher summed it up nicely for me....I'm paraphrasing but..."You have to earn trophies.....he had a chance this year in the FA cup SF.....but where was Sterling???

Good player but no better than that, for him and his agent it's all about the money, if Liverpool get 40 million plus for him they will have done well and should then keep it for the next manager to spend

Certain that he's been tapped up for a while. No surprise at all that Man City have put a low-ish bid for him after all of the games that have been played by him and his agent. its one of the main reasons I hate the premier league.

We seem to hear a lot now that a player has agreed term with a new club even though the clubs have agreed nothing and they are under contract but when a club wants a player out they say I have a contract you can't force me out.

Over hyped. He is a good player but worth that? I don't think so. The premier league is just a money making circus. Still can't see Man City or any other English club winning champions league this season

This is what is wrong with English football, paying through the nose for a decent player but not world class. dont blame Liverpool as they get what they can for him but the player and his agent are the opitomy of greed. Faking sickness and injury and all that bollox.

I don't see a problem with Sterling maximising his earnings. There is no loyalty either way. As one sports editor commented at the weekend if you want loyalty get a Labrador.

It works both ways. 99% of the players Sterling was with at youth level would have been jettisoned by clubs without a second thought so let's not feel too much sympathy. It's a dog eat dog world in which soldiers of fortune really prosper and the weak don't.

He may have handled the media better but what is better? Pretend like we've seen with the likes of Westwood they wanted to stay when clearly they didn't. Insulting intelligence isn't a way forward either.

Individually it's no big deal but collectively it stinks. Pretty much the world over though with the 1% all claiming their innocence whilst the 99% are driven to the poverty line. Soldiers of fortune, FFS !

I know what you mean but it doesnt make it right. He approached it in the wrong way, i have no issue with people wanting a move but its how he went about it. Spoilt child comes to mind.
