A tad ott I think. It's certainly a lot better than it was in the 70's.
And I'd hardly say the country is full of racists, just the odd few I'd say.
There were over a thousand away fans yesterday, and 1 reported incident,
(Still 1 too many) but it hardly merits such a rant.

This country is full of racists and it is getting worse. It is not just confined to this country either, there is a definite growth in fascism around the globe.
Sorry if that went over your head.Glad it's not just me, cos that had me totally baffled.
If you think the UK is a racist country, you wanna get yourself over to Eastern Europe and the former communist countries, it’ll blow your mind.
Spot on. Except the old couple in their sixties. Is being in your sixties old ? I'm a young 63 ! Start a thread now about age !I must admit, I do agree with this.
Those countries are really stuck in the dark ages. It's not a surprise to see their fan culture mimicking what it was over here in the 80s.
In terms of what happened Saturday, it was disgraceful and I'm sure they will get punished for it. However, let's not brush all Cov away fans as being bad. The support Saturday was outstanding. Stood around me were teenage lads, an old couple in their 60s, a family in front with a kid no older than 6.
Every club has their idiots, I actually think we have less than most. To the person who said they don't go to away games because of it, you shouldn't let one or two stop you going.
Sorry if that went over your head.
It's a reference to the fact that IS members or supporters aren't unknown in the Luton area.
As an aside, it may be unpleasant calling someone a terrorist who isn't, but it wouldn't really qualify as racism.

Apology accepted. But joking apart when you're in your sixties, teenagers think your ancient, but someone in their eighties think you're a spring chicken. A customer said to me recently she was surprised I was still working at my age ! WTF !Ooops, I apologise. I was trying to put the text into context...
I've lived in Eastern Europe for over 10 years. I don't find it any more racist here - the main difference is that in the Uk people are a bit more polite and apologetic about it. It's a lot more passively ingrained. If you think the UK is a racist country, you wanna get yourself over to Eastern Europe and the former communist countries, it’ll blow your mind.
I'm interested to hear what you would class as racist if this isn't...Sorry if that went over your head.

Well saidWhats the problem? spent 20 years as a young lad from Irish parents who came to Coventry in 1953 potless, my mother trained to be a midwife and staff nurse at Gulson hospital, my old dad went to the butts college at night (could hardly read or write) and did his city and guilds 1 and 2 and worked for British Gas for 36 years. He also joined the territorial army and ran for Coventry Godiva.
Worked another 21 years as a caretaker at Barrs Hill. At 84 they still asked him to come in and show the new young lads the job.
He also worked as a steward at Highfield Rd for 8 years too.
I lived through an era of comedians on tv telling jokes about "paddies" and how thick they are ...English Irishman and a Scotsman blah blah and the IRA bombings when as a 7 year old lad abuse from people who knew better who were mothers of children who used to play with me.
My parents put more into this great country than millions of people who scrounge, shag and just live a life on hand outs. Some one who gets called a paki etc is wrong but dont forget what my parents and many many other families got far worse.
"No blacks no dogs no Irish" was often seen in boarding houses. Ask many a African person who lived through the same era they will say the same.
Too many people dont realise the world is full of ignorant people who soon change their attitude when a surgeon from African ancestry comes to see them before they go under the knife at hospital.
Rant over PUSB
in what sense , no colour was mentioned, no nationality ,could easily hav been an English white muslim , don't get me wrong not in anyway defending him , but there are terrorists in every country of sort , to be called one is awfull if not one , but this was a stupid remark made more in a vain attempt to impress his fellow passengers which offended the decent folk who heard it and was embarrassing for the idiot ,No sorry, its definitely racism this.

Yeah, racist for sure. Seemingly only did it because of her race and what she was wearing. You're ignoring what actually happened though. A man called a woman of foreign descent who was wearing a hijab a terrorist. He was singling her out to abuse her / get a laugh from his mates which means he was discriminating against her because of the colour of her skin and her choice of clothing. This, by definition, is racism - as it would have been if she was white and he did the same thing.
The suggestion that he did it for a laugh doesn't make it better. The intention of singling someone out because of their race is what defines racism.

Think it is OtisYou just don't want to be associated with these people do you. It's like going on a rally and a few daft anarchists spoiling it.
Must have been so embarrassing being in the same coach as this idiot and have people associate you with that incident.
I honestly think we should stop RE in schools and replace it with citizenship lessons and promoting care for others and focus on morality and scruples and ethics.
Let's face it, if you are a devout Christian, or Muslim , or Jew or Hindu, or Sikh, you are going to be brought up in that religion at home and are more than likely to go to a place of worship anyway.
I do think we should have a small degree of RE, but it should be just an explanation of the different religions and then it should focus on tolerance.
Is it? Not so sure. My daughter say they have been talking about whether God exists or not at the moment.Think it is Otis

Nowt wrong with that. Was just commenting on the remark that they only teach tolerance. What’s wrong with that?
Not a fan of RE really, but I’ve worked in some pretty extreme religious schools and the RE teachers haven’t been zealots, just decent teachers committed to giving kids an understanding of religion.
I’ve met staff members who see it as their job to convert, but funnily enough never teaching staff and never in the RE department.
(I believe it’s RS (studies) not RE now anyway which highlights the focus on studying religion rather than being the educated in a particular religion)
Still call it RE at my daughter's school. What’s wrong with that?

We only have the one?Well our transgender supporter (cant remember her name) has also made a comment about City fans giving her abuse at Luton train station.

Death threat because he had a bad game verses Spurs. No wonder he's angry. That's like me getting a death threat because I left bird crap on a window whilst cleaning a house !Dejan Lovren: Liverpool defender angry after 'Instagram death threat' - Dejan Lovren: Liverpool defender angry after 'Instagram death threat'
I know not a racist comment, but I have stuck it up here because we have sort of gone into social media abuse too.
Bout time we started calling some aspects 'anti-social media.'Death threat because he had a bad game verses Spurs. No wonder he's angry. That's like me getting a death threat because I left bird crap on a window whilst cleaning a house !
Was on CWR news this morning interviewed her and she said she would educate them if they care to approach her.Where's that?
I must admit, I do agree with this.

Seemingly did it because of her race and what she was wearing? I would say that she was targeted not because of her race but because of her religion. A cheap and easy target in a place with a high Muslim population.Yeah, racist for sure. Seemingly only did it because of her race and what she was wearing.
I know it's still 1975 in Bedrock but mate at least try to remember it's 2017 in the rest of the worldI don't cry over spilt milk, I move on. Half of you freaks on here would turn this thread into a 20 paged pile of piss about racism and dramatize it all to get offended. And the funny thing about it is, you go into a rant that was fuck all to do with me, like I even gave a shit about what you heard at a football game. Stay snowflakey.
There's always one knuckle dragging Neanderthal, eh?I know it's still 1975 in Bedrock but mate at least try to remember it's 2017 in the rest of the world
I just generally don't get it what world it is okay to call someone a terrorist based purely on their ethnic background and their religion. There's always one knuckle dragging Neanderthal, eh?
I'll add to that and say I still remember being called an "Irish c**t" after the warrington bombinhg just because I was from an Irish family. There's always one knuckle dragging Neanderthal, eh?
