Not sure about the best ones but my worst three are
1. Gormless Strachan
2. Andy Thorn
3. Peter Reid
No one take anyone seriously who suggests Strachan was a worse manager then Thorn
Oui.Am I correct in saying Mark Robins has the highest win percentage of all time as City manager?
Sorry to be pernickety but I am going to be: -
1. Do you mean "of all time"? Or "since Jimmy Hill"? It cannot be both.
2. Whatever the answer to 1. ...Gordon Strachan? He will only be remembered by me as the man that spent lots & took us down! Roland Nilsson? Errr...did what to justify your choice? Are you serious? Or have you applied additional parameters - like "AND worst hairstyle" as well?
At face value -
1. Gordon Milne got our highest league finish (6th & a European berth)
2. George Curtis transformed & inspired us all...& finished 10th - AS WELL as winning the Cup (how can that feat be ignored???)
3. John Sillett...10th, 10th, 7th & 12th - our most sustained period of relatively successful seasons.
Noel Canwell was a good period but not sustained the same length of time.
If you add entertainment value into the mix - the top two remain the same & arguably so would Snozz...unless the fact we were two divisions lower can, like the FA Cup, be ignored - then those heady phases with Mark Robins or Eric Black might sneak in jut neither were over any really significant period of time.

The perils of going the easy route (Wiki) to source the data.Sky blue Bazza please get your facts right. It was Noel Cantwell who got us to 6th not Gordon Milne, I think our highest position I under his leadership was 7th which I think was our only top half finish during his management
Worst is easier than best. I really didn't like Reid...especially as he replaced Black who was doing ok and playing good football. We went backwards quickly with Reid. Next worse I think was Coleman....talked a good game but never seemed to watch the same game I did. Mind you he is doing great with Wales. And then Thorn....started ok but then started a diamond an with slow players who couldn't control a ball or find a 'killer' pass all season

I thought Coleman was good, thorn was OK but would've been decent with a bit of £££

Atkinson was in the greater scheme of things not bad if you saw the players he brought in.
Maybe better to say he was less bad than some of the others who were really bad.
Worst two have to be Thorn and McAllister I would say.
Then you've got to fight it out amongst the likes of Reid, Butcher, Done Howe etc.
Best? Well that is obviously ....
Tony Mowbray!
I can't quite understand the animosity against Strachan? He spent what 5/6 seasons in charge? (a long period by management standards) and we had some great times and some great football under him. Yes it went wrong at the very end but as we see now the backing to keep us in the top flight was not there. It was some of the most entertaining and sustained period in the top flight I've ever seen.
Others such as Robins were here only 5 minutes. Black too while fondly thought about was in charge 5 minutes.
Listen this was put up for a bit of fun and banter. Those that want to exude loads of critical comments based around others choices is not what it's all about.
