Rcc 8 - brilliant catching and a calming presence
Not much to do besides that but then that's cos he didn't give them half chsnces through drops etc

Stokes 7 did well defensively
.not much attacking today

Reda 9 brilliant all game long
Won everything

Martin 8 solid and no mistakes with ball st feet.playing well

Ricketts 8 good game at rb. Very composed I felt

Fleck 6 not his best game.today. poor first 20 mins but improved after that

Vincelot 9 thought he was brilliant
.battled well all gsme long and it's v important as at 1 nil we cudnt afford mistakes. Also played v well technically too

Murphy 5 poor day at office
Missed a good chance
But improved 2nd half

Kent 8 very very dangerous. Yes.lacks final ball but we are in league 1 we should remmeber

Fortune 9 brilliant hold up. Good tricks
Assisted Armstrong and won and scored the pen. Brilliant

Armstrong 9 arms of old today
So much pace and trickery
Noone better in league 1. Wanted hatrick desperatley too

very good analysis. agree with all but would have given fleck a seven

Was debating it
I guess it's just in other home games everything's gone though him
Didn't really see much of him today. Nearly scored a worldy mind. Maybe you are right

Cooke ... 8 - easy game for the lad but did what he had to and well.

Stokes ... 7 - needs to work on his distribution still for me

Reda ...8 - cant fault him , gets excited at times but solid at the back .

Martin ... 8 - playing really well and i hated him last season .

Ricketts ..9 - MOTM for me , totally controlled the right side .

Fleck ...7 - few poor passes but on the whole ran the midfield well .

Vincelot ... 7 - just does his job , mr consistant.

Fortune ... 9 - wanted to give MOTM but gave it to ricketts instead , great hold up play , worked wonders for armstrong and kent .

Kent ...7 - thought he played better v chesterfield but still a very dangerous player , should have scored .

Armstrong ...9 - special little player , great finishes and workrate

yes also thought fleck did well
Kent i would give a 7 due to poor end product and quieter 2nd half albeit very exciting

Your reda hating is comical

Also shrews hardly threatened
Nothing to do with how our defence handled thrm. Defence only good if we concede lots of chsnces

Makes sense!! Haha

Cook 6- only gets a low mark because he had nothing to do, looks a lot more confident and accomplished than Burge with catching crosses
Ricketts 7- typical consistent performance we've come to expect
Martin 7- continues to impress me since he came back into the team
Johnson 7- won the battle against Collins
Stokes 7- continues to be reliable in the left back spot
Fleck 7- sloppy at times in the first half
Vincelot 8- won the midfield battle and gave us a platform to play off
Murphy 7- should have scored a couple, played second fiddle this week after being the standout player v Chesterfield
Kent 7- really tricky customer but still lacking the end product
Armstrong 9- shrews couldn't handle him, two brilliant goals and showed his intelligence, vision and quick thinking with another lobbed effort which today was just a little too high. He's quick, strong, aggressive, two good feet and intelligent
Fortune 8- well taken penalty and some superb play with back to goal, so good to have an out ball where the midfielders can play it into him and know the ball will stick.

Guarantee RCC will get higher ratings than Burge would have for the same performance...

Burge wouldn't have made those catches so easily though.....if he did thrn you would never have had to.make your post in first place lol

A 6/10 is a good rating. 6/10 to me is doing your job with minimal fuss. How the hell was Johnson anything above doing his job today? A solid performance, nothing more, nothing less.

It's how quickly he distributed the ball that liked , but an easy league debut overall

Yeh no doubt. But like the defenders he made it easy for himself too.

I would start burge in jpt and make Rcc the league keeper personally

Would like to see how RCC does against a better team who will test us first

He's a cov.lad tho nick
Don't hate

Did mcsheff score today?
He's not he's from Hereford.

Rcc had nothing much to do at all today, when he was needed he did and looked confident.

He wasn't amazing as he didn't need to be, however it shows how people think deep down about burge when people say he has great games just because he doesn't drop the ball.

Exactly.

Charles-Cook - 7 the attitude is confident at least
Ricketts - 8 - it's good to get players like him in the squad. Commitment, experience and ability
Johnson - 6 - sorry but first half he was poor. Distribution was weak and against a better forward (as he found with Southend) he would have had problems. The crowd like him as they did Konjik. Konjik was rubbish. At this level he is ok but when people say he was a 9 out of 10 performer that's a joke
Martin - 8 - well Martin has improved and is solid, organised and confident.
Stokes - 6 - reliable enough but not as assured as normal
Fleck - 6 - a poor game with poor distribution. Worsed game I've seen from him this season
Kent - 7 lots of good and bad in equal distribution
Vincelot - 9 - in the first half in particular he held the midfield all by himself
Armstrong and fortune - 9 - the reason we were dominant was essentially these two. They were far too strong and their movement destroyed Shrewsbury all game
Murphy - 5 - only 18 and sometimes his lack of experience shows

Morris - 5 - don't see much yet at all
Tudgay - 6
Lameires - 6

Based on one performance for Cook against a side who didn't test us?

Sorry I meant based on Burges performances, it would be pretty hard for Cook to have performed worse than Burge has this season.

I'm going on the assumption that Burge has been so poor that cook couldn't possibly have done any worse had he played

Agree with your summaries of not your scores G. I would note that Murphy is actually 20.

Tend to agree but think Murphy is worth a 6 as murdered their right back second half but both him and Kent need to work on the final ball. Fleck is feast and famine, gave the ball away a few times at 1-0 with poor passes when under no particular pressure, he's been guilty for a couple of the goals away from notably Scunny. However did have a great shot today also.

RCC 7 - Confident and handled the ball well, especially his coming for and catching crosses

Ricketts - 8. Great performance from the captain today, against a very tricky customer down that flank. Assured and unfazed. Impressive.

Reda - 7. A few wayward passes early on and nearly got caught with the ball at his feet in our own 6 yard box, but got better and better as the game wore on.

Martin -8. Didn't put a foot wrong all game I think. Very impressed with him lately, especially as last season I saw him as very much a weak link.

Stokes -6. Quite steady, though a couple of rash clearances straight to the opposition on occasion.

Fleck - 7. Started off on the back foot a little, as Shrewsbury were pressing high up and not giving him time on the ball. When we started causing them problems though he found himself in more space and improved as the game wore on.

Vincelot - 8. Apart from one or two wayward passes I thought he was excellent. Kept everything ticking along and was nice and tidy with the ball and offered protection to the back four well.

Kent - 7. Looked almost unstoppable with the ball at his feet, but was very wasteful in the final third.

Fortune - 9. Fantastic. Everything you want from a target man. Big, strong, held the ball up well, inventive and clever and also responsible for the build up in 2 of the goals.

Murphy 6 - Completely out of sort in that first half. Did improve in the second though, but wasn't quite on his game.

Armstrong - 8.5. Simply the best striker I have seen up here in many a season. Surely destined to a big future. Fast, tricky, good with both feet, intelligent on the ball and in his runs. Great eye for goal too.

I think everyone played well today with the exception of Murphy, Fortune' stood out for me he was excellent, its great when we have a 'team' performance with only 1 player under performing but 3 beautiful points to add to the tally

Burge has had one bad game, Burton away. Other than that he's been fine.

He's yet to directly cost us a goal/point so why drop a 22 year old goalkeeper who needs games to learn. When he starts to cost us points he goes out the 11.

Has he only played for us this season? Players should be dropped before they have chance to cost us points

Isn't RCC also our young player who needs games and hasn't cost us any points? By that logic why drop him?

Because he got into the side because one of his teammates was ill. He done his job fine, the number one returns when he is fully fit, that's what happens in football.

And Nick, please reminde me of the goals Burge has cost us, please?
