Stu is a fucking idiot when it comes to certain players. He just decides he hates them(for what reason I do not know) and then believes they play poor week in week out no matter how much others disagree
It's so predictable every time. BNC, Hamer and Godden always undermarked and Bidwell, Allen and Waghorn overmarked, the latter to a ridiculous extent.
I can't comment on today as I haven't seen the match as I am away but am assuming that BNC must have been played well from these markings and can only assume Hamer must have been exceptional.

Must play the box midfield Wednesday. Godden benched. Allen & Sheaf fit and ready. Eccles to miss out.
Kelly & Sheaf to sit in & contain the balls threat. Hamer and Allen to make things happen and support Gyokeres when we move forward.
Wing backs to create a threat and use the width of the pitch.
Think we are very much in it. Boro' never create much. Contain their ball retention more & they will not be happy and creative.
Our counters must be quick and backed up with runners.
Wilson 7
BCN 8 (stood out for sure)
Bidwell 7 (ok, but final ball was poor)
McNally 6
McFadzsean 8 (solid)
Doyle 6
Kelly 6
Eccles 6
Hamer 8 (brilliant defensively and closing down)
Vik 6
Godden ...4 (can't recall anything, jumped for several headers waaay too early)
Wilson - 7 Couple of good saves, and a typical performance we have come to see of him this season.
BNC - 6 Thought he did well up against Giles, drives forward well but final product seems to lack.
Mcnally - 7 Dealt with Akpom and Archer well.
Fadz - 7 See above
Doyle -7 See above
Bidwell - 7 Again did well against Jones and ever dependable
Kelly - 6 Broke play up well but quality on the ball lacked.
Eccles - 5 Been a good asset this season but struggled today
Hamer - 6 Not his best game
Godden- 5 Struggled up front and first touch let him down, I'd drop him for Wednesday.
Gyo - 6 Sometimes tries to much, but you can understand why.
Subs:
Allen - 6 Good energy but didn't impact the game greatly.
Wilson - 8. Two fine saves to keep us in it early on.
McFadzean, McNally, Doyle - 7. Solid unit that dealt with their attacks.
Bidwell 6.5, BNC 7 - Solid defensively but final ball was a bit lacking when they had the opportunity. BNC looked more dangerous and caused them more problems.
Eccles 6. Steady but is far too conservative with his passing.
Kelly 7. Didn't leave any gaps for Boro to exploit and protected the defence well.
Hamer 7. Was sat far too deep, especially first half and was having to try to create stuff with 40-50 yard passes. Was everywhere and made some good challenges, but needs to be further up the pitch to link with the forwards.
Gyokeres 6.5. Isolated and well-marked, but you see Boro were worried about him.
Godden 4.5. Anonymous. Did some gentle pressing but nowhere near any crosses and the token jumps to 'challenge' for long balls were embarrassing.
Allen 6. Added some energy. Would start him ahead of Godden in a box formation 2nd leg.
Just thought his passing was well off. Trying to do too much too early in the move first half and didn’t get to driving through like he can either. Agree about his work rate and effectiveness without the ball though. Maybe I just have high standards for him.
Wilson 8 - Kept us in the tie.
Godden 5 - Added nothing to the game.
7's all round for the rest. Some were slightly higher 7 ( like a 7+ ) and some were a lower 7 ( like a fucking 7- ).
In all honesty I thought Eccles pinged some lovely balls around to today and knows his position on the pitch well, but his legs have gone. He's run out of steam, when gyro played him through after a quick free kick, he looked like he was running through treacle. It's his first proper full season and it can happen. I'd have Sheaf in for Eccles and Allen in for Godden next match.
Same, I thought he was really good, his first touch is still a bit poor but honestly the player has grown so much from the young loanee we had at the start of the season. Also nice to see the way he tried to get the crowd going for a corner, its good to see how much it means to the loan players too.
Hamer was fantastic for the first half, faded in the second
Listened to the Sky Blues Fancast (and they've just played the clip again on Clive's show now) and one of the lads said Bidwell's performance was 'disgraceful'. Suprised rubbish like this doesn't get edited out, let alone played again on a different show.
