Burge had a shocker. Never knows when to come out. I had flashbacks to the season before last.

I thought Jones was subdued tonight. Occurred to me that he might know a lot of these WHU kids, having come from Dag & Red. Was maybe intimidated?

Tudgay made a big impact when he came on.

Was at fault for both their goals. You could forgive the second one maybe, but on the first one the ball hung in the air for long enough that I could have walked down from block 18 and caught it myself.

I'm winding you all up about Burge, have been for a while. I think RCC is far better, but he didn't have a shocker tonight, let's cut the lad just a little bit of slack, he done fine.

Ran out of glue to sniff mate, finally come around and seen what the rest of us have been saying.

Burge 7 couple of dodgy kicks but I blamed willis for first goal and no chance with second
Willis 7 generally good but had a mare for the goal
Harries 8 class again
Turnbull 9 shame he got booked at end
Bigi 5 some shocking passing going on
McCann 7
Haynes 6
Dion 6 stupid sending off
Ruben 6 yes he scored but otherwise.....
Sordell 6 just doesn't look like he's going to score many, was interesting with it being so quiet to hear how vocal he was the pitch though
Agyei 7 is a handful

And you didn't? Shocking decision! rd45 is useless everybody, we will get relegated with him in the stands!

I thought it was an entertaining game last night and glad I made the effort.

Burge - 5 - Remember why he's on the bench, shocking kicking and positioning though TBF, good one-on-one save.
DKE - 6 - Unlucky to be sent off. His quick throw in led to their first goal, but he is quick and gaining confidence
Willis - 6 - Good goal, but his passing and dawdling on the ball gets us into trouble.
Turnbull - 8 - Great goals and great defending
Harries - 7 - Solid
Haynes - 6 - Nothing special, nothing wrong.

Bigi - 7 - Best game since he came back last year. Some shocking passes but tough tacking and good when playing the simple ball
McCann - 6 - You can see his quality, but didn't really have the chance to stamp his mark on the game

Lamerias - 8 - One of his best games, great first time shot for the goal and they struggled with his pace
Agyei - 7 - Big and strong, but still not on the same wavelength as Sordell yet, will be a good partnership when that comes
Sordell - 8 - Others may disagree but I thought he had a great game, running at the defence, shots on target, crunching tackles, helping out at the back too.

JOnes - 7 - Usually lively self but again with no end product
Stevenson - 6 - OK

Just to put this game in context: almost our entire team was under 23 also.

And we played bloody well too, attack after attack in the second half and we were unlucky not to double our score. I think those who stayed away missed a real treat. Considering we were hammered 6-1 by basically Norwich U23s last week I thought we were excellent last night. And Norwich did it again to Peterborough too.

I hope the success of last night will kick our season on.

Burge-5/6-saved one on one, but should have come out for the first goal, but Willis could have also just smacked it clear. Second goal perhaps could have saved but will give benefit of the doubt.
DKE-5- did okay, young lad, nothing on note- silly sending off- second wasn't a yellow
Willis-6 shocker with the first goal- should have just cleared it instead of just expecting burge to come who hadn't even called for it. Good header for goal, intercepted well.
Harries-6- calm on the ball and good at bringing it out, still needs to learn when to stop playing, as he was almost caught out on a couple occasions and was lucky.
Turnbull-8- MOTM- 2 good finishes, solid as a rock, nothing got past him, liked the look of him.
Haynes-6/7-steady match nothing much to do, crossing was very good tonight.

Bigi-7- thought he was impressive, had open mind about him playing, for someone with no pre-season he was good, he didn't really misplace any passes until last 20 mins, after that he had a few shockers, but will put that down to fatigue, he definitely isn't as bad as people make out but it was an easy game.
McCann-6.5- could tell he was a class above those playing, when he had the ball, and set pieces were good, but didn't get on the ball enough, but a couple of really nice interceptions to help us break.

Lamerias-6- he was okay yes he scored but he seemed to break down a lot of our moves by just trying to be too clever, needs to add more end product otherwise he will be released at end of season.
Sordell-6- definitely something to work with there, good feet and pace, think once he scored his first he will be a good acquisition
Ageyi-6.5- great hold up play at times and he can turn his man so easily, good to see him be unselfish to set up Rubén for an easy finish.
Jones-6- needs to stop overdoing things- he's a game changer but he seems to take one touch too many if he took the simple pass more often there would be more chance to score, he could have easily set up ageyi last night
Tudgay-7- set up a goal with his first touch, he might not be athletic or fast as the players on the pitch, but his experience told.

Most of our players were under 23. Only Tudgay sub 33, McCann 29, Sordell 25, Agyei 24....Burge 23 are older. Support this young side. Great achievement.

Burge 6 needs to command his box better he is not very vociferous when we defend corners
Willis 6 would blame him for the first goal he needs to grow a nasty streak that all good footballers have
Harries 8 this you lad reminds me of Gary Gillespie when he first made his debut in the first division as it was then
Turnbull 9 good strong and powerful in their goal mouth to get on the end of crosses
Bigi 5.5 still finding his feet will judge when he has had 10 games under his belt now he is not a loan player
McCann 6 not reached his Wigan standard yet
Haynes 5.5 still needs to concentrate on his defending positioning
Dion 6 getting better with more games he plays confidence is showing through, needs to watch himself and stop being wound up
Ruben 5 yes he scored but needs game time lots of game time
Sordell 6 he knows how to hold up the ball and bring people into play, getting stronger as the more game time he gets. he will come good you dont score as many as he did last year without knowing how to play in the forward line.
Agyei 7 becoming quite a handful to defenders! i notice that the WHU players were starting to man handle him to hold him down, needs to get the ball to him in the box he will become a good source for penatly's this year methinks
Lamerias-6- he was okay yes he scored but needs to really buid his core body strength up else he is just going to keep getting pushed off the ball
Tudgay 6 the old master knows his way around the pitch never going to be prolific in the goals department but invaluable in helping all the youngsters on the pitch, I watched him puposefully talking to DKE and Agyie all the time
