Why hasn't Steve Kean been given more of a mention? He's VERY used to tough situations with useless owners and knows the club. He's not the best choice in the world but his odds are only 50-1. Thought he would be not a terrible choice.

Adkins / Warnock would be great (whoever isn't at Leeds)
so would Di Canio
Mcleish not bad
Megson not bad either

Gould is a long shot but anyone else think the club has to consider someone who is willing to work for free?

What's happened to Gary McAllister?

would Solskjaer ever consider cutting his teeth in England at a club our size like Di Canio?

Ole turned down Villa so wouldnt come here, neither would Adkins or Warnock. Yes, we're a big club, but we're also in League 1, a shit league, so we're not gonna attract the interest we would have got last season. Paulo Di Canio or Andy Morrell would be my top 2 choices, but neither is likely unfortunatley. Anyone except for Keith Curle, Phil Brown or Graham Westley would be fine by me

No to Warnock at any price because he's a horrible little turd. No to Di Canio because he's a fascist-I wouldn't go again as long as he was there. Not McCleish or Megson as they are utterly useless negative plonkers. McAllister is a nice bloke but an atrocious manager.

I'd want Coyle (unrealistic) or Tisdale. I don't want any of the favourites with the bookies. Morrell might be OK but lacks experience-we need to find another Robins somewhere! That'd be Tisdale for my money, but we won't pay compensation.

We've already done this debate to death anyway.

Tisdale who has no experience managing a club bigger than Exeter, where his record is distinctly average? No thanks. I'd like to see us try and pull all the stops to try and poach Howe from Bournemouth, but even there his record at Burnley serves as a caveat.

Absolutely no chance of Howe, he quite Burnley to go back to Bournemouth for personal reasons...his mum past away and he wanted to be nearer his family.

Back to back promotions an 8th place in league 1 is surely a massive achievement for Exeter? Hasn't done so well over the last 2 season though tbf

Howe done an ok job at Burnley, had nearly a 40% win and Burnley don't have the greatest if squads or budgets for the championship

Always thought it'd be a long shot to be honest but if money were no object he'd be my first choice. Going from Waggott's comments, we're only considering those who have gone and applied to us, rather than pursuing anyone currently employed.

It's Tisdale's more recent record that puts me off him-there are plenty of managers who can ride off one great achievement for their career, it doesn't mean they're worth hiring in the hope they might do something good again.

Kean is tough, with a massive point to prove, used to people slagging him off every week, used to joke owners, did ok with blackburn at championship level before they sacked him, knows the club, would take ANY job going on low money.

I'd take him.

Di Matteo would be great but come on! Can we really see the current champions league winning manager coming to Coventry? He'd more likely go to Leamington.

Steve Kean's a good option with Black as #2.. like Cathedraltospare suggests he's been here before, understands the club.. which in itself would add instant stability to the playing staff.. he's a no nonsense type of guy, very used to working under a cloud of ownership.. is available.. and I think very much has a point to prove....the more I think about Mr Kean the more keen I am on his appointment (no pun intended)...

Steve Kean was a fat, bald, pisshead who had no managerial experience and was a cheap option and put up with all the shit from the owners and fans because he knew he would never manage another football team again. What did Jimmy Hill, Curtis and Sillett achieve before Cov in management?

Jimmy Hill no experience, was PFA chairman, Sillett a brief spell 10 years before manager at Hereford Utd, then back to coaching and scouting, Curtis just behind the scenes rolls no club management.

What had Adams, Bothroyd, Reid etc. the list continues, achieved before Cov then at Cov?

Mark Robins proved we need the kick ass mentality. That brought us results and within 2 points of play offs.

None of this Thorny, Shawsy, Carso crap! It makes my blood boil as it shows CCFC is a easy ride attiude.

There is only one man with a winning mentality, with drive passion, and take no shit attitude and you need to win or you are in the shit type manager thats Roy Keane.

He was a hit at sunderland, ok not great at Ipswich which shows at the right club he will prosper.

Im fed up with this shit attitude at CCFC, something has to change in order for it to get better. Robins proved it but has now gone.

FFS losing to Crewe at home is not acceptable when you are going for the playoffs! GET ROY KEANE IN!

If Roy desires a career in management, is he in a position to not tolerate any ownership situation? He hasn't had the best managerial career. He got Sunderland promoted on an unlimited budget but thats it. Having made a name as a player can only take you so far. If he really wan't management as a career, he really needs to remember that as a manager, he's no bigger than any other manager at this level. Roy Keane/Paul Merson/John Barnes the managers are not Roy Keane/Paul Merson/John Barnes. What gives Roy Keane rights that other managers don't, why should they expect more when they haven't achieved as much as their peers?
