Reda Johnson can play in the championship?? I've heard it all now Hahahaha.
I can't see the image, but if there were to be a Toy Story image for Reda Johnson it would surely have to be Mr. Potato Head, where all the bits just come off.http://tssc-eastleighfc.proboards.com/thread/3258/defender-reda-johnson-signs-eastleigh
I like the Toy Story image, I wish we could use that!
Understatement of the century!Eastleigh forum said:May be some doubt over his fitness.
Odds on.What odds on him being top goalscorer?

He could play in a lower championship team, and he'd get less stick than Martin did at times playing for a league 1 team.
He's not last a full season of course, but it's not laughable by any means.
Of course it's not. He was at our level because if his injuries.
We would only give him a certain wage and contract because if his injuries.
Somebody way below us is throwing everything at him because if he stays fit at that level he is a complete match winner
How do you know what they are paying him?
TM wanted to sign him but said his wage expectations was too much.
So they are paying him more than we were prepared to.
At that level then relatively they are throwing it at him.

Not necessarily. Its quite feasible that he was messing us around, we said cheerio, then there were no better or matching offers and so he had to take the Eastleigh offer.
Mowbray also said that it was not just his wage demands but length of contract, it's quite possible we were only prepared to give him 6 months to prove his fitness (like Ivor Lawton) and reda wanted longer, which he now has.
So theres at least 2 scenarios where Eastleigh aren't paying him more than we were offering. We have no idea how much hes on.

Just wondering if it this situation is similar to Mike Marsh all them years ago , insurance for injuries means he can't get a contract in the football league ?

Ah yes that's right , was just thinking outside the box , seems a very bizarre move for League 1's Rio Ferdinand (if you listen to the pundits on here )I think re Marsh the situation that there was a clause in his insurance payout that said he could never play in the league again. Ie the claim would be invalid if he did...

TM said wage demands AND contract length.
So wage demands were a factor.
Eastleigh to be anywhere near what we were offering him to pay him at their level
Relativity will be throwing money at him.
No - all the talking is done with. He's gone.Isn't that conference?
Correct - Eastleigh are regarded as big wage payers but the general view is he will not be getting more than £1,500 a week
No they have 4 or 5 players earning around £1 - £1.5 a week and he will be in that bracket.
We never said we wanted to keep him and certainly never offered a firm proposal regarding wages.
I do sometimes wonder if you actually read this forum that you post so much on
But his demands against what we believed he was worth.TM said wage demands AND contract length.

General view? Sorry I haven't got access to that, can you show me where?ely
Also what is the average weekly wage at that level?
But his demands against what we believed he was worth.
We could have offered him 6 months at £2k pw (I imagine he'd have previously been on c£3k pw previously) = £52k
He'd have likely been injured and wouldn't have got a renewal.
And at Eastleigh he has a 12 month deal with the option of a 2nd year. Using purely arbitrary figure let's say they offered him £1.5k PW * ( so less than us) over 12 months (guaranteed) =£78k
In which scenario is the better deal for reda?
That's why it was ridiculous the notion that he was ever going to accept a pay as you play deal.
*I doubt he's getting paid a league one average salary at Eastleigh even if their owner is throwing money in.

I suggest you go and have a read of the SCG thread and pay particular attention to what MV said about TM's views on Reda.
We didn't offer him a contract and there is zero evidence that Eastleigh have met the demands he tried to place on the club - other than probably the contract length.
Stupot said the same and I have greater regard for his views than yours
