Think they need to sort their priorities and start dishing out suspensions to inept officials

What a serious waste of time and effort! As you say there are far more pressing issues with the standard of officiating at all levels

Of all the things you could take action over with the standard of officiating this should be very low on the list.

And I have done that myself aswell! The golden rule here is don’t make a big issue about it and put both hands behind your back (with a pen/pencil in one) and tell the captain to pick which hand is it in-simple.
He has drawn attention to himself by doing the rock/paper/scissors for all to see.

Not as if it was for a goal deciding decision for fucks sake! Would have understood if he asked them to play snap or something, just pointless and harmless

Yep I forgot my coin and had to use the which hand is the grass in to decide the kick off etc once

Dermot Gallagher says in a Quickly Kevin podcast episode that he did exactly the same thing in a game with Ronaldinho as he left his coin in the changing room.
I dont see how it is any issue. Ridiculous that he should receive a ban for that, but refs in general make terrible decisions week in week out that affect the outcome of the game.
