Got most of the big decisions wrong (IMO)
Missed the pen shout when he had a choice between wrestling and a handball
Got the first drop ball wrong
Bottled out of the 2nd yellow for Pele Pussy
Bottled a red for Hyam (Maybe would have been slightly harsh but couldn't have complained)
Missed lots of fouls by both teams

I’m struggling to remember the penalty shout. What happened? I missed the first 5 mins of the 2nd half, was it then?

Gyokeres tussling in the area. Not sure id have given it tbh. Possibly a red card each he could have given to hyam and pelupessy so can't complain at that really. Other than that not sure he did anything wrong really

If he had seen it he had to give it. It wasn't mutual, the defender locked Gyokeres' arm against his chest so he couldn't run onto the ball. There was also an incident where O'Hare was barged off the ball when away that was missed. Wasn't obvious to me until the replay that it was a foul.

The Hyam incident just shows how naive we are. He rested his hand on his back and he fell like a truck had hit him. What Hyam did wasn't enough to stop him had he wanted to run on but enough for him to tumble if he wanted to and take us down to 10 men. I don't think what McFadz did last week was smart but at least he really stopped the player rather than giving him options.

Was definitely held back for the penalty shout, but very subtle and not at all surprised it wasn’t given / spotted.

Ahhhh, I remember the penalty now! Sorry, it was 3am here when the match started... I may have still been half asleep!

I think it was Windass who went down from Hymes pull. He went straight to ground and starting kicking up a fuss. Something we don't do and really need to do.

If Gyokeres goes to ground it makes the refs decision so much easier

Well if that’s all me got wrong in the match I’m not that bothered. The penalty shout was a penalty on second third viewing but at the time I wasn’t 100% convinced. Lino obviously didn’t see it either. If we have to mention a drop ball then surely he would merit more than a 5? Yes he could have sent both players off then he would be slated for ruining the game. Every ref misses fouls both ways. I thought whilst he wasn’t exceptional we’ve had a lot worse. I’d have given him 7 especially considering the weather the fouls to me were minor.

Benefit of tv it was a penalty...but real time the ref couldn’t have seen and therefore couldn’t have given. If viktor had gone down the ref would have had to make a decision...even so his view obstructed and he wouldn’t have awarded the penalty.
Hyam could have gone and their player should have received second yellow...not sure why ref didn’t act on either. But as has been said above he would have been slated for ruining game.
I don’t think he was tough enough on some over aggressive tackling by Wednesday but to be fair nothing too serious.
I don’t think we ‘play’ the ref enough...going down under pressure, surrounding him when we have a case etc. I hate when other teams do it but it’s the modern game and perhaps we should do it more.

It was obviously a penalty, you could see a mile away he was being prevented from getting to the ball. Letter of the law surely that’s a red as well as it was a clear goal scoring opportunity.

Sure @Grendel will be surprised at me saying this, but don't think the referee had a bad game last night.

- Penalty could have been given, it was a pull back but nigh on impossible for the referee or linesman to see it. All very easy when you have replays. Actually quite similar to the one on Luca João last week which maybe could've been given.
- Second yellow for Pelupessy. Don't think it was the wrong decision not to book him. Yes, it's borderline and they can be yellows but don't think it was worthy personally. Would've been annoyed if our player had second yellow for that.
- Rose - again not a red. Was a foul, albeit fairly soft. Can't put your hands on a players back, you know they'll go down. Not sure their player would've got the ball and was some cover from Ostigard too.

Yes, there were fouls missed but there always are. It's a fast game and refs don't have benefit of replays. Actually thought it was one of the better refereeing performances of the season.

They have to be able to see what's occurring and it was covert/obscured from most views. There's so much pretence in the game, simply seeing a player fail to reach a ball (or indeed falling over) isn't enough

In fairness that was possibly on the blind side of the referee but the assistant could have come into play if he thought it was a penalty but he obviously didn’t.
Must say I was concerned that Hyam was about to see red-I guess they seem that one differently too.
On the whole not too bad though 6/10

Yeah I’m not really blaming the ref as much as frustrated that generally a dirty team got away with murder.

I thought Hyam would be off, so I guess it evens out.

Injust wish teams like Wednesday were punished properly. They got out of their points deduction. They delayed the game and strengthened their squad in the mean time. Last night they were bordering on dangerous and have put Dabo out for months. And nothing will happen so they’ll carry on.

I think the Hyam decision was 100% correct. Their forward didn’t have the ball under control and it had clearly run through to our keeper. Even unimpeded he was never going to get to it.

I hate to say it, but for us to compete we need to go down at the given opportunity. In many games this season, opposition have done it to us. O'Hare and Hamer are the only two who seem to be wise to it and will give the referee a decision.

It shows how different opinions can be. I didn’t come on here during the match. I honestly didn’t think they were that dirty. No more than most the teams we’ve played. There were a couple of tasty challenges. But the Dabo one was completely accidental. You can see his boots slipped on the pitch and that’s taken him into Dabo. As for the other stuff... I’m probably not going to fret over things I can’t influence.

Mmmm, O’Hare went down 2-3 times a bit too easy last night-the ref didn’t buy it though.

Going down easily gets on my tits. The worst I remember for it was Grant Holt when he played for Norwich. If anyone was within 3 feet of him he would go down like he was shot, never seemed to get punished for simulation.
