Spot onAny squad players he wants to move on that are under contract; it will be made as easy as possible.. They wont be haggling for next to nothing fees. They will be more interested in reducing the compensation package.
Interesting re Barnsley and Bremang. With nee banging them in, not sure where Bremang fits, I guess a loan spell is crucial now. Feel Newton and Williams have a career in league footy, will keep an eye where they end upI'd heard Bremang was going to Barnsley
Not sure what's happened there
Newton is a surprise to many
Some feel he's actually better than Reid
But it's all about opinions
I hear Newton is quite a shy reserved lad off the pitch which may have counted against himInteresting re Barnsley and Bremang. Bremang will be straight out on loan for a season I reckon, with the club potentially hoping he can do similar to what Wilson did.
I’d have thought we’d have extended Hyam for a few years. He wasn’t great this season but played his part and we don’t want to lose him for free if he has a good year next time.
Newton can count himself a little unlucky from a 23s perspective as his performances were good but was at risk when the club signed Reid who’s a year younger.
Hyam had one poor run of form, but wasn't the only one - the whole team was playing poorly then.
He's been very good at the start and end of the season, Robins clearly likes him as he's played more games than anyone this season.
If he did have a club lined up, could this be our way of sticking a sell-on % on him?Yeah, I wonder what’s gone on there. Unless we’re getting a fee for him?...
No. He had a bad patch but even at his best his use of the ball was terrible, like L2 level bad.
In the last 5 games of the season Hyam had a goal every 2.5 games ratio. He may be the answer to our goalscoring issues. He has shown he can sniff a goal (Millwall) and strike from distance (Barnsley). I may put a bet on him being top scorer next seasonNo. He had a bad patch but even at his best his use of the ball was terrible, like L2 level bad.
Could be do the extension then got time to discuss a new deal or look to sell if he declines. At the very least it gives us another largely capable body in the defence which is looking a bit bare on number at the moment (obv pre-signings)
Also we still need a squad and options. If Ostigaard is one of our main targets transfer or loan - it could be a very late decision by Brighton like almost at the start of the season. You dont wamt to strip the cupboard too bare. Hyam has improved as season gone on. If heis seen as a squad player can you do better on his wages? So many permatations to consider?
We're also still under a transfer embargo.Wouldn’t be announced now anyway, same as JCH at the end of L2 he was announced as end of loan then his signing confirmed when the window opened.
Hope they sort this out soon so we can start properly negotiatingWe're also still under a transfer embargo.
That is a formality. Club took advatage of government rules as opposed to EFL rules. It will be sorted before transfer window opens. We're also still under a transfer embargo.
Wouldn't be surprised to see that happen before we reach the point where he'd be able to speak with other clubs.I’d have thought we’d have extended Hyam for a few years. He wasn’t great this season but played his part and we don’t want to lose him for free if he has a good year next time.
Lots of work to do (obviously). Think Hilssner, Kastaneer, Mason and Jobello won’t play for us ever again.
Only conjecture on my part, but wondered if the form wobble might have been related to the lack of New contract discussions.I’d have thought we’d have extended Hyam for a few years. I think even with that he’d be worth a few 100k to a L1 team so not worth letting his contract run down. If he has a good year now he’ll command big money and if he’s middling again we’d still be able to move him for a fee so I’d like to see him signed up for longer.Only conjecture on my part, but wondered if the form wobble might have been related to the lack of New contract discussions.
Maybe Hyams clause triggered so we can sell him! on his day not a bad defender but made some cock ups this season costing us and very slow too
He was injured according to the notes on the team sheet the club releaseWhy didn't Wilson play against millwall?

you've perked up since the pubs have openedI hear Newton is quite a shy reserved lad off the pitch which may have counted against him
Ben Wilson is an interesting one. 2023?
Marosi leaving then?
I’d have kept Wilson and sold Marosi based on Wilson surely being on less dosh but who knows now.hopefully. I really would be disappointed if we go into next season with those pair though personally I'd keep Marosi and let Wilson go but MR knows beat.
