You are correct. The score was shown in the middle in large numbers as you describe. The team names were letters slid into slots and illuminated from behind. There were ten smaller number squares on each side to indicate scorers, six on the top line and four below, plus another each side to show 'OG' if necessary. If I remember correctly on our old electronic scoreboard (the first in Britain by the way), the numbers were made up of separate dots like on the old calculators. The new 'retro' scoreboard looks nothing like it.
as long as its 6-0 every home game i'll be ok with it!

Yes it does, Dave! It has to be exact!!Its not that different to this one. Just because its retro doesn't mean it has to be based on the first one we had!

Try All Bran and some prunes.I don't really give a shit to be honest!
I can remember when I first started going the half time scores were read out a match a etc with no team names so you had to buy a programme or look at somebody else's
Have i missed something? Are we saying it was to be replaced? I'd like to see a better bigger one erected, one each end tbf.
Oh no, this was Dec 1992. L'pool battered us first half but second half they dissolved. Quinn got two as did Bugsy. Can't remember without checking who wore 11 that day and therefore who scored the other goal. That scoreboard would be put to good use again a few days later when a certain Aston Villa arrived in town hoping to further their title ambitions.Which players do those numbers equate to.
I'm guessing Gibbo was ten who was two?
Only really glance at it now and then to see how long's left, (I already know the score cus I'm
watching the game) trouble is it only goes to 90mins and then goes off.
So the most important time to know how much time is left,we're not informed ,
the clock obviously only goes to 90mins. Could they please program it to include
time added on.
Clocks in the stadium showing the length of time played may run during the match, provided that they are stopped at the end of normal playing time in each half, i.e. after 45 and 90 minutes respectively. This stipulation shall also apply if extra time is played (i.e. after 15 minutes of each half).
wI think that they're not allowed to because the FA said so I remember reading it in a programme. But I can't find that written anywhere except for a FIFA (bye bye Blatter) document
Which I found here http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/tou...regulationsfwcbrazil2014_update_e_neutral.pdf

Well I never knew that, wtf is that about . Somthing to do with fergie time.
Haven't you answered your own question there?I have never understood why they dont put scoreboards/screens on the corprate side. So the majority of fans are directly facing them.
There is a massive gap between the bages on the walls.
Have a look tomorow.
Number 11 that day was Kevin Gallagher. I was doubly delighted that day as I'd had a couple of quid on Borrows as first goalscorer as figured we may get a penalty. Loved Borrows, top full back & brilliant club man.Number 11 that day was Kevin Gallagher. I was doubly delighted that day as I'd had a couple of quid on Borrows as first goalscorer as figured we may get a penalty. The first one was a penalty but he scored the second one as well.
