I reckon if the supporters are the ones doing the pushing anything is possible.....while we're at it, why not put in that Duggins, Lucas, Steve Vaughan and Nick Eastwood have to give the team a guard of honour onto the pitch dressed in the Sky Blue Crew outfits with Moz Baker and the Trust board waving the flags!!
Love those ideas Shmmeee but I reckon that Wasps won't be bending over with any deal given/agreed. I'd guess at pretty much "as you were" with some sort of pitch agreement.... but who knows..... !?!??
Talking of the Ricoh, here is the application for the signage for the new bar:
Coventry City Council: Planning Application Details
1. It looks like they're using the former club shop unit, doesn't it?
2. The sign looks shite, the concept is about 25 years out of date
3. Good to see them spending in the local economy by employing signwriters from erm Newcastle upon Tyne
Playing at Ricoh Arena will never feel like playing away at all, Its the stadium built for us in Coventry. It's Just not owned by the owners of Coventry City. Lots of clubs don't own the stadium they play in, no reason at all why it cant be made to feel like home in the way it was from 2005 until 2013 when SISU moved us away. Yes there have been some major problems caused by both sides but its still Coventry City's home stadium in my eyes.
They are 100% against the owners. That much so that if they have to screw over the club, so be it... that is how much they are against them.Good points, but when you have a council authority and a rugby club that are anti the local football club that it was built for plus owners of the football club that have looked for any excuse not to play there is it any wonder we are in the state we're in. This is despite our owners under Robins being classed as recovered there reputation somewhat in the eyes of a lot of fans who are tired of protest.
Why though? It doesn't make any sense to just randomly start a feud with them. My explaination above I think makes more sense. They are 100% against the owners. That much so that if they have to screw over the club, so be it... that is how much they are against them.
Clear personality clashes and lots of inaction where there could have been actionThey are 100% against the owners. That much so that if they have to screw over the club, so be it... that is how much they are against them.
Your last sentence, " They seem to have the attention span of a child and lack any ability to think of the long term implications of their actions. " is probably spot on.Why though? It doesn't make any sense to just randomly start a feud with them. My explaination above I think makes more sense.
Tell me about it...The anecdote is a terrible name
That's spot on Pete, as I said SISU started the ball rolling the council and it's officials well it seemed like they escalated it over the Las few years and as usual it's the fans that don't have our club in the city that bears our name.Clear personality clashes and lots of inaction where there could have been action

'state-of-the-art' and 'a modern, cutting-edge environment'State of the art Shuffleboard though, open 7 days a week until there's nobody there Monday to Thursday.
Does that mean they're getting more taxpayer money or is this the money they supposedly needed to get the venue up to scratch for the Commonwealth Games not being used for its intended purpose.Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP), which has been made via an allocation of funding as part of the Government’s Getting Building Fund, and from the Government’s Local Growth Fund and Growing Places Fund.
The CWLEP funding will also be supporting the development of a new pavilion and launch of a Commonwealth Convention Centre at the Ricoh Arena.

Interesting note slipped in at the end of Bridge's latest PR piece.

This is so true. Local goverment strategically bet on commercial retail (high street) in the last 5 years when it was obvious to most with half a brain that Amazon and other online retailers were squeezing the margins and would force many out of business. Like most thing LG do they are about 5 years behind the curve.Think people might be overestimating the council going against the club. They're not against the club, they're just really, really stupid. Look at the state of the city in general if you need proof of that. West Orchards was valued at 37mill just 8 years ago. It sold for just under 4 last month.
They destroyed the swimming pool because it was old and not making money only to replace it with a much more expensive one...which is also not making any money.
They spent millions on building museums (since when was cov a tourist spot?) only for them to be struggling. The plan for Ikea? Turn it into a museum
They built the cathedral shopping building...only to have completely failed to have a reason for it since.
They paved the area outside it now which in a few years time will start to fall apart due to the wear and tear etc. Going by the state of the streets in cov, they won't keep it in good condition.
They seem to have the attention span of a child and lack any ability to think of the long term implications of their actions.
I’m not saying this is to do with the Ricoh but my hearts telling me it’s definately to do with the Ricoh

Now you can expect SISU will continue with getting planning permission at Warwick as an option, a 10 year + deal back at the Ricoh, and present the club for sale finally. In the short term WASP problems are negated slightly but they still may move away and SISU will have a strategy if that happens. It was always going to be this way. From hardened opinions from both sides for years a softening and common sense was always likely to play out eventually. The pandemic has no doubt played it's part in the urgency for a deal - more so for WASP tbh.
Just hope modern technology can improve the pitch condition.
I was told ages ago the only thing that might happen at the Uni is a training complex, that came from the academyNow you can expect SISU will continue with getting planning permission at Warwick as an option, a 10 year + deal back at the Ricoh, and present the club for sale finally. Pleased but couldn’t confirm he’d goAnybody catch what lies Duggins spouted on CWR this evening???
Edit- he might not have lied... but was hedging bets going on previous form....
May depend on how many Freebies Joy dishes out.Pleased but couldn’t confirm he’d go
Having no stadium of our own and renting from a rugby club is hardly going to attract buyers.Suddenly we look saleable
What a bitter t*wt.... he's not pleased in the slightest.Pleased but couldn’t confirm he’d go
Following our meeting with them id be surprised if they did nothing to try and get people talkingWhat a bitter t*wt.... he's not pleased in the slightest.
Wonder if the council knew how well discussions were going?

Not sure on that might be the opposite, anyone with deep enough pockets to buy ccfc and knowing the apparent financial situation at Wasps could be in a strong position I would have thought to cement us at the Ricoh on his terms, I’m not a big Ricoh Arena fan I’m old school have perhaps too with many HR memories. If it were me buying ccfc I would be looking to share a big part of the Arena.Having no stadium of our own and renting from a rugby club is hardly going to attract buyers.
Best thing for the pitch would be not have any concerts on it over the summer, and ensure the groundman is from a football background not rugby. We should always play before the rugby is both have to play at home same weekend too
