Do we go all out for the win thinking we need to make up the points sharpish, or would you be happy with us setting our stall out not to lose and a point being a point gained?

I just say now what the fook and let's just go all out for the win. If we lose 4-0 we lose 4-0.

A draw just puts more pressure on us to then have to beat Millwall.

I know mathematically a draw may look quite good, but if we could get that win and Bristol lose we would be back within one single point with West Ham next up for them. Even a draw then against Millwall for us could see us move back up above them.

If Thorn goes with 3 up front and we lose I for one am not going to blame him. He will have at least given it a bit of a go.

Well yes, but what I am talking about is the cautious approach. Think Thorn always goes out with the intention of winning. My question is do we keep it tight and try to grab a goal from somewhere or go gung ho from the off?

We really did need to win on Saturday to negate any bad result today. BC have two very tough games next, we need a minimum of 1 point on Sat and to batter Donny. Whether we have it in us to do that though...

Our goal difference is far superior. Four points from the next two games is the least we shoiuild expect. Hopefully Bristol will get battered in their next two.

If I was in charge, I'd let slip the dogs of war.

The situation is difficult. But I honestly believe if we let the lads go all out for it, maybe they could get this result out of their system, get some confidence going and maybe, just maybe, our season wouldn't be over. If we are going down, let's at least go down kicking, screaming, fighting for everything.

To be perfectly honest I would rather we went all out and lost 4-0 than tried to keep it tight and lost 1-0.

Burnley still have a outside chance of the play offs, so they will be flying, can't see us getting any points here.

You have to be in it to win it. Same approach. Anyone who now thinks only one or two games ahead are delusional. 4 to go and look at the fixtures. yes Bristol two tough ones but then two winnable ones!
We have a average one then two winnable ones. Neither team can afford a mistake least of all us!
We MUST win at Burnley in my opinion. A draw will not be good enough unless we are expecting Bristol to chuck in the towel?
If we win at Burnley we then need to win against Millwall and Donny with the saints to come.

Fellas it's not looking good. Why would we win 3 in a row? How?

Of course Bristol might collapse but as they are 4 points ahead I reckon all they need do now is beat Barnsley at home and draw with Pompey and it's enough.

We just blew it big time this Easter week end. 1 point from 6. Bristol 6 from 6. Say's it all.

Just to add.....

Yes SISU ultimately are responsible for our plight at this point in the season as we have injuries and a thin squad.
BUT crucially NOT responsible for the position in the league we are now.

We turned it on for 7 unbeaten which simply showed that the first 35 games we could and should have done better with what we had. THAT is why we are probably going down in the ultimate conclusion.

Some will say we should have changed the manager, some will say letting Juke go or Westwood last year is the reason. Frankly that's become an old beating drum full of excuses. had we not shown recent form and what we are perfectly capable of from a 'learning' manager cutting his teeth then i would perhaps buy iy more but that is not the case. Past decisions and tactical errors from the first 35 games are going to bite us!

Why is it delusional to only think two games ahead? Don't understand that logic at all. The very reason people are looking just two matches ahead is because Bristol have two very hard games ahead. After those 2 games we could be back above them. Don't think it is at all delusional to think in those terms. Once we were back above them that immediately puts pressure back on them, whether they have easier games or not.

Most people on here thought Peterborough at home looked a reasonably easy fixture for us.

Tis entirely practical.

Sorry Otis have to disagree. You have to look at the 4 games now home and away for both sides. Shocks included one would conclude that Bristol would find enough to stay in the championship. We need to win 3. We are already 4 points behind them remember. Yes Bristol could collapse but likely to that degree and we win at least 2 or more?
That's where delusional to think so comes in I'm afraid.

It is entirely reasonable to accept that Bristol may lose both of their next two games though. West Ham and Brum. It is also reasonable to accept that we should pick up some points from our next two games, even if it is just 1 or 2.

Bristol may well have easy games after that but it is also very reasonable to suggest that they could well fook that up. Our 3rd game is Donny at home, so I think that is entirely reasonable to think we will pikc up points there too.

Only Southampton looks beyond us.

IMHO, next Saturday is pivotal to your chances. Burnley away is a huge game for you as I reckon that's where you could get the third win you will need.
Wether you get it is a different matter.

After all the banging on Otis about why any one would expect us to suddenly win away (and we did finally) I still think the scenario is just as true now. What makes anyone think we can maybe win away again and win at home twice?
We couldn't beat Posh at home and couldn't even get a point at Bristol in a 6 pointer?

Throw the towel in Otis...you know it's over.

Do think if we can beat Burnley somehow that we would still be then in with a good chance.

Not convinced we can beat them though. Guess it all depends on our injury situation and if we have a decent squad of players to select from and how Burnley play too.

Cannot see Bristol winning at Brum. Brum have now scored 3 goals in each of their last 4 games. Bristol may possibly get a draw there but you would have to fancy Brum. Does mean that if we were to beat Burnley we would be be back in with a fair chance. After that as has been said we have Millwall at home and Bristol play West Ham.

For me it it will all be decided if we still have any hope come 5 p.m. Saturday, albeit not mathematically.
