From what I saw the coins went into a bucket that was being donated to a Nominated Coventry charity namely Zoe’s place.

Still baffles me why they don't just put away fans in the lower bowl. It would improve what is a truly woeful atmosphere there.

I've never heard of this before. I don't think the legal terms & conditions on the ticket cover this, do they? If it's not something that's you've agreed to in the terms of purchase, then this sounds a lot like theft to me.

Someone from the club or the FSA should pick this up with Sunderland and/or the police.

Took £8 off my grandson, I had already gone through so didn’t see it. They didn’t even ask me. £8 might be nothing to you, it is to him.

That last one would seem to be key for me, that's the one that relates to football fans. There's no mention of coins there, I don't think they could refuse access on the basis of coins if that latter link is their stated policy.
