Robins: “Split in the camp” (3 Viewers)

Doing my best impression of a CT headline writer there :p

Just watched Robins interview from last night and he looks seriously pissed off. Someone mentioned before he said there was a “split in the camp” and it’s probably about who was isolating but watching it that’s not what comes across. He’s talking about how players got to spend time with their family which is important because there’s a split in the camp, which makes it sound like it’s something else.

Any of the ITKs shed any light? @Skybluebeliever
@better days

Anyone not ITK fancy making up outlandish rumours?

I believe it's between fully vaccinated/unvaccinated players

Yep, seems so.

Jodi Jones for example is not vaccinated and therefore is at risk constantly of being a close contact and being forced to isolate.

By vaccinated I believe it's those who've had 2 jabs
Some players have had one dose and for whatever reason hadn't had their 2nd
So some of them are likely to get their 2nd one now that the new regulations have come in

Well Jones isn't vaccinated and was at work last night .
I believe the rules are the same as for the rest of England
If you haven't had 2 jabs you have to isolate for a number of days if you've been a close contact of someone who's tested positive (not sure if it's 7 or 10) even if you test negative yourself
But if you've had both jabs you can take a daily LFT and go to work
Not sure of all the minutiae but I think that's the gist

Yep, that's it.

Unfortunately, the players work in an environment where cases are, and will continue to be, high. Therefore, those who are unvaccinated are likely to miss a lot of the season unless the rules changed up they decide to get the jab.

I think we had some players who'd had one jab so just need to have their 2nd to be able to use daily LFTs to carry on if they're negative
But there are others who don't want any jabs at all
It's the same across the whole of society so no easy answer I'm afraid

We played like shit and have been doing so for a long time now. He needs to stop making excuses and sort it out. Every club is facing the same issues.

He didn't make excuses, he literally said it's the same for everyone?

We've not been at our best for a while (Bristol City early November?) but we totally bossed Huddersfield at their place in our last game but struggled to finish. I think if we'd have (deservedly) won that we'd have a lot more confidence & fluidity. We looked devoid of ideas last night.

If I was MR and Jodi Jones wasn't doing the bare fucking minimum 10 minutes out of his day to get a jab and make sure he's available for training and games at every opportunity after the 4 years of wages and rehab we've given him then I'd be seriously pissed off.

If true I think he should be encouraged by whispering “no jab pal no contract next season”

We shouldn’t be paying anyone to isolate after contact if they’ve refused the vaccine. Entirely self inflicted.

Yes and I'm with you. About time everyone stop shitting their pants and started getting on with life again.
However, there's at least 25 qualified scientists on here with a different view.
If you have a cold don't play football, if you feel okay play football.
Isolating is bollocks .
You are right, there are a number of qualified scientists on here. I’m sure most would agree that we should start getting on with life again, first step being to be fully vaccinated.

Robins mentioned this in his interview. Said we’ll still test on the day as it’s about keeping people safe.

Yeah, sounded like they'd been getting mixed messages from the EFL (shock, horror).
Seems a little reckless not to test on the day but should definitely be done & results confirmed by a set time in the morning imo.

If only the contracts could be retrospectively amended.

In the NFL if teams can't play games due to COVID outbreaks with unvaccinated players then the team forfeits and the players aren't paid. Would be much better to have that here.

I want a football agent to write my next contract. Don’t have to turn up, don’t have to keep yourself fit.

Not a bad call

Instead of having a training session, can't they run all the lads through a day's worth of educational videos and talks from scientists on the vaccine etc.

I think Robins is struggling with the players available just like every other team as he says. I see where we are position wise is a realistic assesment of how good this team is at the moment. We have had a bad run, missed lots of chances and with the players we have currently I cant see us moving much further up the table to be honest. This is not a critisism at all but just an asesment on how we fair in this league with what we have.
