He also went on to discuss the financial position of the club and the coincidence of the opportunity to sign Bidwell. This backs up that he may well have wanted to keep Walker but he had to let somebody go to accommodate Bidwell.

Maybe longer term we will, from the sounds of it Bidwell was somebody who may otherwise have been signed in the summer but has been signed now. As an interim measure his wages can be funded in part / full by getting somebody off the wage bill. That said, not sure he'd let Dabo go.

No I said we’d be getting someone off the payroll if we are signing someone and as he’s a defensive player it’s mostly likely him
