Pretty close to zero i would have thought.what are the chances of keeping Vik if we don't go up with a new deal signed as others has mentioned, not to flog him on at a profit but to generally keep him. i guess zero chance right.
We will lose probably half the first team come the new season. If we don’t go up this year I fear we will have missed our best chance.
Because they would just wait 12 months and pay nothing.
Less keen on that, we’d lose out on incentives and clauses.
Why would they pay 25 million now when if we get to August without selling him his value clearly plummetsGiven they have been in the relegation zone all season primarily because of their lack of a striker, why on earth would they wait 12 months? It makes no sense and reduces signing players to being solely a financial transaction rather than an investment in to the playing squad. If Gyokeres was available on a free he'd have no end of suitors and better ones than Wolves.
So, you're a manager who sees Gyokeres as the ideal buy to strengthen your campaign for Europe / consolidate in mid table / avoid relegation. Do you:Because they would just wait 12 months and pay nothing.
He hasn’tRemember when Slowpoke kept saying Vik wasnt leaving?

Vik will sign a contract extension
King and Robins haven’t managed to find the Swedish translation of ‘sign here please’ yet and Vik can’t understand what they’re trying to get him to do without it on account of his broken English. He also said this...
Not sure what the delay is?
Waiting for the translation agency to finish? He also said this...

Or wait til the last day of August and get him much cheaper...So, you're a manager who sees Gyokeres as the ideal buy to strengthen your campaign for Europe / consolidate in mid table / avoid relegation. Do you:
A) buy Gyokeres with the money your board provides you, strengthen your own reputation as Gyokeres does indeed improve your team, find yourself either with more money to spend the following season as a result, a target for biger jobs or;
B) Not buy Gyokeres, wait for a year, upon which you're out of a job because your team has performed below expectation with the resources offered you, and find yourself unable to get another managerial job as a result?
Or find him sold to somebody else, you without a striker, and your managerial career down the shitter.Or wait til the last day of August and get him much cheaper...
So it's signed? Great news!!To Coincide with the season ticket prices announcements ?
This could only happen to us, so I insist you don’t share any more premonitions.I dreamt we got promoted and Doug fucked off with that 90 million prem money, plus the cash from selling Vic, Gus, Sheaf and O’Hare and went to see out his days in the Cayman isles with Ray Ranson who he married on the beach in a civil partnership ceremony.
He's said as much himself! The Sweden team will want him playing at the highest level and will have told him that, for sure.what are the chances of keeping Vik if we don't go up with a new deal signed as others has mentioned, not to flog him on at a profit but to generally keep him. i guess zero chance right.
Depends on how much the release clause is (and knowing what league we'd be in next year).I wonder if we could convince Vik to sign a new deal with a release clause?
He will sign one somewhere someday with somebodyHe also said this...

Then they risk missing outBecause they would just wait 12 months and pay nothing.
Wait 12 months and try to get him from the club that paid for him?Because they would just wait 12 months and pay nothing.
And miss out to a manager who has common senseOr wait til the last day of August and get him much cheaper...
No where near as cut and dry as you make out especially if multiple clubs want him then we will get top money for him.Why would they pay 25 million now when if we get to August without selling him his value clearly plummets
What’s in it for him when he can move to a PL club this summer and probably earn 3 or 4 times more? We’d also probably end up losing money because the balance of power would be his in negotiations. There’s always a risk in running down a contract. Big injury like O’Hare’s would reduce his ability to get the big money.
His stock is at an all time high, surely an improved contract with a clause at the end of next season where he can be released if we don’t go up for a set fee must be worth looking at?
Quote me on this we won't get 25 million for him unless he signs a new deal.No where near as cut and dry as you make out especially if multiple clubs want him then we will get top money for him.
Delude yourself if you want then go aheadAnd miss out to a manager who has common sense
If you want to see someone deluded all you have to do is look in the mirror.Delude yourself if you want then go ahead
agree, truly toxic and depressing at timesI don't get it. We have an owner that oversees 2 relegation, 2 lots of point deductions, 3 groundshares and some of the worst years of our history while heaping millions in high interest loans on the club. We get bought out, things looking up and you lot try your best to make it seem like everything's still as shit as before and that the new owner is no different from the previous regime. Just enjoy the ride

To be honest it's likely to be a undisclosed fee anyway so I'm not sure how we will tellQuote me on this we won't get 25 million for him unless he signs a new deal.
