He's a scumbag because he gave us a rare bit of hope, vowed he'd stay after interest from Doncaster, said his blood was sky blue and pissed off. It was a scummy thing to do. Maybe if he was half decent I'd make an exception but he ain't going to do fuck all.
You're making the same unrealistic expectations lots of football fans have.
There is no loyalty in football. Them days are gone. Clubs sack managers after 8-10 games and as soon as you get a winless run, fans want managers out. Why do you expect it in return?
Anyone offered a better job with more money will more than likely take it and I don't blame them one bit.
Also, people who say Giggs and Terry etc were loyal......makes me laugh. It's easy to be loyal when you're already at a top club!!!
I agree with this. Scumbag is a bit strong, more like duplicitous twat. It wasn't the fact that he left us, it was the way he did it. There really wasn't any need for the skyblue blood statement, why couldn't he have been honest? Wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. He has done nothing of great note since leaving us last time. I don't think he will reproduce the record he had last time, it was just a short run and a chance fluke. We are still on the long run downhill I am afraid. Saying that I think he is a reasonable manager and he won't do a bad job, I just think he will be off like a shot as soon as something more favorable comes along.
On the subject, I don't have a problem with the choice of manager in the last couple of years. Mowbray was a great catch and Slade was a good fit for the situation we were in. The bigger worries for me are where are we going to be playing after the current deal runs out at the Ricoh and what is going to happen about the academy and training ground. Also the last few managers coming in have been of a reasonable pedigree, and although our budget is low, it isn't as low as a lot of the teams in this division. So why haven't these managers at least kept us mid-table? There is something fundamentally wrong with our setup and unless it is rectified we are doomed.
Well you would hope he would work on positioning and command of the area.
Burge's positioning is very poor though and so too is his command.
You would think he would work on a keeper not being rash and knowing when to come for the ball and when not to come for the ball and when the keeper should hold his ground.
RCC is very rash and comes for anything and everything whatever the cost.
Burge and RCC seem just as raw as they seemed last season.
I see little improvement.
I did think for a while that Burge had improved, but when you watch him closely he hasn't. He dithers and seems unsure of where he is on the line.
RCC appears to be just as hot-headed as he was last season.
Maybe Oggy has coached them as far as he can take them.
