One thing I'm so happy about since robins came in is that he's given us an identity and a style of play. I can only think back to late 90s with Hucks and Dublin when we had that. We were known for our style. I remember when Robins came in (the second time) he said he wanted to model us on Bournemouth and play his way up the leagues. I thought at the time after Andy Thorne, "wishful thinking there pal" but he fkin did it. With no budget. The ethos has become engrained from youth level upwards and wow it shows. Im rarely impressed, with anything frankly, but to take on a job as difficult as us at the time and not only succeed, but to do it with style is nothing short of incredible.

Tend to agree with that and the way he has put the building blocks into the foundations has paved the way to what's happened on the pitch with Wembley appearances to boot with great staff surrounding the improving quality on the pitch. Think Robins coming in the second time had the nous to sell it to sisu to put the money in to back him along with boddy coming in who bought into the plan from the off and its now top to bottom of the club that are sharing Robins plan and think We are on the final phase to get back to the Premier league and this will test sisu and joys purse some more and signing matty James is a great start. Pusb

Rubbish. Taxi for Mark Robbings. 4 at the back. Phil Neal and Gouldy - better managers.

I've been thinking about this recently and I think it's easy to underestimate what he's achieved here.

He took us over at one of our lowest ever points, fragmented fanbase, not a great squad etc and he's taken us up two leagues with two victories at Wembley which were much needed shots in the arm for the fanbase and will live long in the memory. Certainly for me they will anyway.

There's every chance that we could've had another average journeyman manager or someone else along the lines of Thorn. We very well could still be sat in the middle of L2.

But we're not. And despite things that still need to change/improve with the team/club, MR deserves a huge amount of respect for what he's done here. And his backroom staff as well.

Huge MR fan. Only slight concern is that it has all been built around a couple of key individuals who have done a fantastic job in pulling everyone together. When we establish our own ground I will feel a lot more secure, as MR has achieved despite being hamstrung. If he were to be poached at any point, I would be slightly concerned at how quickly it would have the potential to unravel. Hopefully MR will be given tangible evidence of future plans and wants to be part of it. At that point, my concerns will lessen considerably, At some point we all know MR will leave/get sacked/be appointed US President, but if the ground bit has been resolved, I will be 'happy' for our future. Enjoying the current stuff enormously, though will be happier when we get back in. The idea of potentially having Hamer and never getting to see him play for us in the flesh is galling.

I get what you are saying about Hamer but my view is that there are going to be players who have fairly long careers at Coventry City who will never play in Coventry and Hamer is just one of them. With regards to Robins apparently there can be no loyalty in football so I wouldn’t overthink it. He has tried the other grass and found it want greener so whilst the going is good I believe he will be sticking around.

Robins is our king. The fans believed in him and backed him in numbers every where we go!

There is no better fit.

The biggest/best signing from SISU. Masterstroke.

As and when he gos (hope he doesnt) we will be well and truly fucked.

Hes not perfect tactically but you cant argue with his record. So please dont.

Hopefully the Premier League's obsession with foreign managers will mean that MR will be overlooked for the jobs in the league above. Both Robin's reaction and that of Boddy to Sunderland attempt to poach him bodes well for any future approach from clubs in this division or even the one above. It could be that Robins does become a bit of an Ainsworth or even a Wenger in terms of his longevity.
The disturbing thing for me is that despite all of his achievements here, the promotions, the style of play, the successful recruitment and the fact that year on year we have improved our league position, he is still only a defeat away from being doubted by a sizable minority on here. If that is the case in the wider fan base, you can see how quickly people could turn on him.
I say after a defeat, the 'experts' will often be pointing out his failures after naming the team, not making a substitution, or making the substitution at the wrong time or with the wrong personnel. You only have to look at the negative comments he received during our 8 game unbeaten run to know that some are never happy. Perhaps for them, they won't appreciate how good he has been until he is gone. Or perhaps not as by then they will already be on his successor's back using their vast tactical knowledge and expertise, already pointing out where the new guy is failing.

Not to detract from MRs success story, there are other people who require praise. Chris Badlan and Adi Viveash to name two. Both have played a massive part in our rise.

I'm always astonished Londonccfc as you are.

I would say that we only have a few Idiots on here - but they are unfortunately a very loud minority (with a particular Clown as Ringleader) - and damagingly they seem to turn up the volume of criticism and derision just when the team needs the most support.

I love Robbings.

However, let's not underestimate the team effort here...

Chris Badlad and the recruitment team ethos.
Adi, his (now very audible) shouting from the sidelines and connection with players.

All pulling together, making something that works at the moment. Must be a lot of work going on behind the scenes going into this .

It's hard for me not to appreciate Robins... Me and my old man spend alot of money travelling around the country watching city drop down to our lowest point... Absolute miserable experience travelling back from matches almost weekly being beaten, or travelling a couple hours knowing youre going to probably lose and the players simply aren't good enough or either care enough....

That's changed now and I'm forever grateful

We all should be tbh

Controversial for some but well done Sisu for showing faith in him, supporting him and getting the club back on the upwards curve
