Talking of which, our throw ons are poor again. I thought we'd fixed that but just lately they're too slow agsin, limited options available and invariably concede possession. Frustrating.
It works fine. We finished just outside top 6 due to chsnging from hoof.
What it needs is centre mid to tske ball from defence and be the transition. Today kelly and shipley could not make any incisove passes to the front 4 and our fullbsacks did not penetrate along wings.
But using cbs to retain possession and play oit frlm bsck is defintley the right way to go.

Completely agree with this. Robins said one of his aims for this season was a football identity and it's been one of his great successes. Keeping the ball the way to go and we'll get better with it.
I have mixed feelings. The first football advice I was given, 60 years ago, was " never pass across your own penalty area" but that was village football, not professional. My concern is that we seem very laboured in changing from defence to attack. A lot of good forward runs are missed. I think this is because our midfield is designed to protect the defence, not support the forwards
football has moved on from lumping the thing up front, work the ball out, shift the opposition around, I would say we are one of the better teams in league one at doing this, Shrews didn't do it today and I doubt have done it much over the season and I would like to see a state on how many balls come straight back
i saw Robins at the tesco petrol station on the way home, he was with Bright, thomas, Willis and Some Birmingham goalie that had a 100% clean sheet record for us, Robins Said no he wont stop
