It’s strange, whatever others view on yourself or shmmeee at least you offer your opinions, which is what a forum is for after all. Danny wants to offer no opinions himself and instead opts for being a hindsight executioner

Yes no wonder he’s hesitant - the fountain of football knowledge has given us “Biamou is the best athlete at the club” and “you have to be fast to play CDM”
Ridiculous how hes improved us year on year, not really a single year of stagnation. ( we were close to rock bottom when he took over the atmoshphere was toxic) could have easily gone wrong in league 2 but it clicked in the end even through adversity of losing then to injury the best player in the league Jodi Jones.
Early days this season but it appears hes made some shrewd signings so far. And best of all its a pleasure to watch our style of football.
Ah, but he was lucky that Jones got injured as this meant he stumbled onto the formation that got us promoted.
Just like he was lucky when Hiwula got injured at half time against Fleetwood and he stumbled onto the wing back formation.
A run of one losing game and the taxi will be back.
The thing is, the games against Forest and Blackpool are the kind of games we *should* be winning if we want to avoid relegation. Barnsley? Yeah, I'll say that ultimately it's a good display, but they're also not a team to be feared particularly, and we had plenty of good displays early last season (Bristol City, opening day, for one!) where we played well but had nothing to show for it.
The games to come are the ones where we'll get tested. We still only have one LWB of note, no fit cover in midfield, are 50% of our strikers down at present, and have a new CB who definitely needs time to bed in. Give us an injury or two and we're struggling to form a competitive team.
Now, that's where we are (note, I've always been of the view that the manager has achieved *despite* the circumstances and what he has to work with, not because of), but we have to accept there are far tougher challenges to come.
Another way of looking at it....win at home draw away regardless of league position. Target 5 points achieved 6 points.
We will have some poor performances and lose I am sure. But I am also sure in some games we will play better than we have done in any of the games so far.
This we should beat them we won't beat them we can get a draw there, it never works out like that.
Three games in we have done ok. I always say it takes 6 games before the League settles down and you start to see where teams are at. Even then the bottom team could end up in the top six.
I think anyone who is critical of 6 points after a H A A sequence in the opening three games is being over critical regardless of the opposition.
I do agree with your, if we finish where we did last season and see some development in players it will be a good season. I also agree with you on the 2nd season is often tougher than the first.
But I am more than happy with the start we have made.
If we win on Saturday, it'll be a great start to the season and I hope that supporters will stay positive if/when a few results go against us.
Barnsley was disappointing from a results point of view, but the performance was good. We'll have a few results when we've been the best team and get turned over....this reminds me of the Tranmere game on our promotion season. We battered them, but couldn't score and they had one chance and took it.
PUSB's - MR and the team deserve great support. Well done SBA last night....immense support.
The job he's done is absolutely amazing, and we're still on an upwards trajectory. To think he still has doubters is dumbfounding. Have a feeling his reign is going to culminate into something really special.
