Rochdale attendance (1 Viewer)

Definitely going to be under 11,000 isn't it! How much under you reckon?

Can see loads being put off, especially after the last limp effort against Fleetwood and then getting beaten easily again last night.

Can't see Rochdale bringing many. Could it drop under 10,000?

Outlook for Friday to Sunday
A return to unsettled weather on Friday with a further risk of strong winds and snow. Saturday and Sunday a little less unsettled but remaining cold with scattered wintry showers.

If the weather is as bad as the forecast I can see a big drop. After two terrible performances it won't take much to put the walk ups off.

Fear it could even drop under 10K

I regularly check quick seats, in days leading up to home games. Your right never seen this many tickets still available for a while.

could well be sub 10000, possibly 9500

which is so very dissapointing.

We are 6th!!! In our time of need for supporting our team, to bring in that revenue our only source of revenue bums on seats, being that 12th man.

Nothing short of a disgrace the so called fair weather fans.

Fucking pathetic so called supporters.

But what do you expect when you get people coming away from Barnsley saying the players didn't put any or very little effort in and all put in sub-standard performances in.

Do you expect people to pay £20 to potentially watch well paid footballers not trying their damnedest?

Understandable I would say.

Where you there? I wasn't, but I will reserve judgement myself. Players will come and go, fans don't.

This is My team, I will support them till I die! Simple.

If we all have this abandoning behaviour. We wont have a club, and for me I can't think one reason why any self respecting city fan would not want to support the club right now!

I would much rather be sitting at the Ricoh than sitting in hospital with my little girl on Saturday, I went on Tuesday and want to go to Shrewsbury but it will depend on how she feels after her operation as she is more important than the sky blues

Will be there as always at home. I have supported city 50 long years... Long enough to know there are more downs than ups in following the sky blues. I have been proud of teams that struggled to stay in the top flight...but they stayed because it meant something to them. On Saturday it was the lack of desire from the players. Fleetwood were poor BUT played for each other and the manager. They collectively wanted a result. We were individuals who didn't. Those who went to Barnsley saw more of the same but against a better team.
I want the players on Saturday to recognise my support and the support of others who bother week in week out to go and watch. Of course I want a win but more than that I want to feel my efforts at getting behind the team are matched by the players efforts. That shirt and that badge has got to mean something to every player

You also have to factor in the likes of the people who only come occasionally. How did they feel after Saturday's ineptitude?

There was a bloke and his young kid sat next to me. Have never seen them before and they seemed newish (not quite sure of where they were sitting and unsure of the stadium layout etc).

The lad was only about 7 and seemed very excited at the prospect of the game. As the match wore on you could see the poor lad's face drop.

Will he want to come again after that disappointment? I would say probably not.

You therefore do have to factor in those who can't make every game or just as a one off go up to take their child up possibly for their first ever game. People like that are hardly likely to want to come again next home game up are they!

It's not just all about the die-hards. The die-hards are pretty much always going to go. Lots of differing variations of football fan.

You're assuming its the same people every week just with some deciding not to go. There will be a hardcore that go every week but then you're looking at fluctuating numbers every week. Some people will go a handful of times a year but will make an extra effort if its a 'big' game or we're doing well. The reverse also applies. Go on a terrible run like we're on and those fans might decide this isn't a good week to go.

I agree with you. Averaging around 15 to 16k per home game from, Gills, Oldham, port vale, Wallsall, and Burton.

To 11k last few games and now it seems like a definite sub 10k.

HUGE drop in just a matter of weeks! The fluctuating numbers are fluctuating a bit too much on the negative side.

After the crowd diminishes, don't we usually win and score tons of goals and then everyone complains they missed it? Then they are tempted back and then we lose again ...

Hopefully I'll be there. Expect this to be a poor crowd after recent results and the quality of opposition. Sad really because when I can make it up I really don't judge it on results, simply like to go and watch a game with my home club. Having said that I think we will struggle to get 10k. What a pity this town does not know how to support a team through thick and thin and not just attend when you are expecting good things.
Saturday has to be a reaction from the City though so many will probably miss out on a good performance!

Completely agree. I drive up from London for pretty much every home game regardless. The players are low on confidence at the moment and the last thing they want is to walk out there and see a serious drop in support. But it's always been like that with City fans...probably the most fickle in the land and don't understand the importance of the 12th man in circumstances like this. The players will pick themselves up and it'll all change again, and the fair weather fans will return. Now is when we're needed that's for sure. To desert a team in 6th place is inexplicable...and shows serious lack of understanding.....rant over!!

Yes I hear what you're saying but there is 2 sides to every coin and the other side of course is players have been woeful lately and Tuesday seemed to take the buscuit. (Wasn't there) Our form is dropping like a stone and it's boring to watch. We are getting beat by poor teams convincingly and there seems to be no solution.

We are no different to any football club in the world. The more you win and have success the more fans will turn up and buy everything around the club also. Proof is there for everyone to see on this season alone. 18k gillingham when going top and on a great run and now on the verge of dropping out of the playoffs playing crap football we will be likely to get around 10k Saturday. It's just how it works.

i was there tuesday and can confirm, it was the worst performance of the season bar none
on the back of the fleetwood game, i reckon 10,000 gate saturday

disappointing for sure, but hardly surprising, given the bunched up fixtures, form and big awayday coming, folk just aint got the money to spend, i make most games, but i am able to financially, but the 4 young guys behind me cant afford a minimum £50 away and £30 a week for 3 weeks running, its impossible to do

i would pick and choose if i didnt have the means, and ive been hardcore for 32 years
