Thanks to the extra time and penalties, plus the endless road works and the massive diversion thanks to the M62 being completely shut, I got home at 01:30 this morning. Thanks a lot City!
Seems they thought we were decent last night.

f]what a cracking match.
]I thought we were going to murder you for the first twenty minutes but gradually, especially in the later stages of each half, you imposed yourselves on the game and by the end of normal time we were hanging on. Coventry were a joy to watch and I reckon play-offs look a real possibility. We became dependent on long balls to Vincenti and Calvin Andrew. Tudgay's winner, I hate to admit, should have stood.
]I like the keeper a lot, he made some really good saves.
]I thought our penalties were brilliant. I also loved the second wind we got from nowhere in extra time.
Wonderful way to spend an evening.
Can we not?
Thought the performance was good and we were unlucky not to win the game. It looks like we will have healthy competition between two young keepers. Good all round performance but special mention to two players who fans have been bitching about: Aaaron Martin who put in some good tackles and interceptions and Tudgay who put the ball in the net twice (one ruled out for off side against Thomas).
It shows these two players can be important squad members. I think Martins game will improve under Mowbrey as illustrated by his performance last game of the season at Crawley and this performance at Rochdale. Mowbrey will give him a no frills role and let him concentrate on basic defending.

Quick question , who chooses the end for penalties , if it was the referee he definetely gave Rochdale an advantage , everyone was expecting the opposite end , where 3 sides of the stadium were around the goal , but he went to the other end with just Rochdale fans behind the goal
They also both said that the Cov fans were great and were really pleased so many had made the trip.Cook - "Really impressed with your keeper, Dale kept lumping crosses in trying to test him in the first half and you could see the defence making sure they were there to mop up – he did a belting save at one point though- really good, we thought it was a certain goal."
Tudgay - "Looked a cut above this league, worked hard and always in the right position. Unlucky not to score more"
Stokes - "Best player on the pitch by a chalk, worked hard defensively but also provided an attacking threat."

I thought it was a flip of a coin, like at the start of a game. Could be wrong.
I wasn't at the game (impending baby any day now so cant venture far from home).
However, my two best mates are Dale fans and were at the game and made the following comments:

Dale are a great little club and my pet team up here in exile so if we had to lose to anyone i'd sooner it was them. Just gutted i wasn't able to go.
Ref's decision, so was a poor one imo too.

No sadly it's not, the ref is meant to pick the side which has the least influence/bias, which seems to have been the wrong decision to me.
Actually I heard it was something that was pre agreed based on the potential safety risk/hazard. Essentially it's the safest side of the ground...
Think that was on the radio last night
3 times he put the ball in the net, the other he was offside I think, still controlled it beautifully.
I got home at 12.45, but even though we are out of this cup I think we played well against a decent side and it was a game I enjoyed even though we lost out in the end.
Thought the support was great, looking forward to Saturday at Millwall next.

No-one posted this yet?
No, not yet .......... (no idea what is meant to be being posted...)
Yeah, a good game, excellent City support but penalties are a horrible way of deciding a game and M62 closure was a real pain. But given it was only a couple of days ago it was stated on here that "the hierarchy of the Sky Blue Trust" don't want success under sisu I'm not sure why you, CJ and at least one other member of the "hierarchy" who I saw on Tuesday go to so much trouble! See you Saturday
The team and the fans of our club will always get my full support.
Good to see you last night as always.
Am sure Saturday will be interesting.
