Seems very strange how he just became surplus at Northampton after being critical to their promotion from L2. Such a she that last season he was wasting away in Northamptons U23s whilst we were stuck chasing Kelvin Wilson and finally settling for Turnbull.
To be fair though, as good as he is I'm happy with the defensive cover too. When Hyam and Davies have played, they seem more than capable of filling in. Always had my heart in my mouth when other teams attack but this season we seem better defensively than I've ever known us. Credit to all 4 centre halves

I didn't think today was his best game and he missed a couple of things. Still a great player though, the ball into the box later in the second half where he just let the striker get the other side of him and then stood up to head away in miles of space was brilliant.

He wasn’t critical to Northampton’s promotion from league 2 he played 23 games for them... wasn’t really given the chance by them after that so as you say he really was wasted.
agree on the rest though, the others have stepped up and played well when asked too.

Hyam and Davis are going to feature in the new year, Willis is off in January, city holding out for half a million pounds. The deal is being discussed as we speak.

I fear bids for Rod Mcdonald more than keeping hold of Jordan Willis.
If we continue to keep clean sheets then scouts from L1 and championship clubs will soon be in attendance weekly come November December time especially with JJ earning rave reviews weekly.

We may even get bids for Lee Burge, image getting a 300/350k bid in January for him, he has kept 5 clean sheets out of 7 league games now conceding just 3 goals.

I think a lot of our players have found their level & are excelling ... Jodie jones made the step up last season & seemed to get found out out in league 1, but is loving it in league 2. Burge looked nervy and glued to his line last season, but looks confident & comes and claims everything in league 2... is it that they shine in a lower league ? Or is that robbins has brought the best out of them/ recruited players around them that bring the best out of them?

I'd certainly say robbins got his recruitment spot on for this league... with a couple of players looking like they could make the step up too. Doyle , Kelly , McDonald

Yeah agree with some of that.
Think that the improved performances from jones and Burge and co, is because they are no longer the experienced ones in the team!
Last year they were so inexperienced and such a young team, which is one of the reasons they struggled so much.
Think they have also improver as players. But hopefully next season we will be able to judge better and see how they cope at league one level!

Bids for Lee Burge? We can all but pray!

I think McDonald has been an exceptional signing, he's quick, strong in the air and reads the game really well. He's formed a good partnership with Willis which is probably the biggest reason I would want Willis to stay rather than because of Willis as an individual.

How much have we pissed about in the last 2/3 years with the back four? Now we've got a settled back four that's keeping clean sheets regularly, I want them to stay together!

Been solid this season so far, touch wood.
I wouldn't go as far as solid. Dependable maybe. Improved definitely. Solid? No. There is still a lot he can improve on and he's still extremely indecisive. Good enough in this league? If say Yes. Good enough back in L1 if we get back up? I don't think so.

or he was a kid who was developing and needed time to make an impact

IF we get promoted this year, should we sell as he will be found out in League One ?
