Did it again today loved itChange of route today, came out of my estate along Bennett’s road onto fivefield the hills tough. Over onto holly fast lane left onto wall hill rd , up through coundon park ( the new path is good ) onto High street back onto Bennett’s road and home 5.8 miles . Loved it
Just out of interest, and i was tempted to make a suggestion...
I don't know how often you attempt your 10km... but i'd suggest an idea would be to forget about timing any runs for 6-8 weeks... just go out and run them steadily, but if you can, just try and push the time you are out a little... on your way back, do an extra lap round the streets and try to push an extra half a mile.
6-8 weeks of regular running, then have another go at your 10km... i'd be quietly confident you might see some further decent results in your 10km time...
How old are you? In my late 40’s these niggles happen all the time and they take longer to get better. Think the trick is to listen to the body and limit distance and speed as you come backNot had a day off running in 2021 but it’s now come at a cost. Really sore lower calf/upper Achilles(?) if that’s a thing. Disappointed to bring the streak to an end as will probably need a few days rest

My new balance are hanging onto life by a thread so just picked up some Nike Pegasus 37 for £75 in the sale at Sports Direct

Bedworth - Bulkington - Aldermans Green - Bell Green - Stoney Stanton Rd - City Centre - Foleshill Rd - Holbrooks - Bedworth
7:20/mile pace.
Is that along a particular path , wouldn’t mind trying a part of thatThat sounds like a great run. Fair play

Club challenge I need 7 good hills to run up as close together as possible. Anyone got any recommendations? I need to be able to get there this week so it has to be local to Beduth/Cov
That’s excellent, well done!Ran my fastest 5k yesterday at 21.45. Still plenty of room for improvement but having not been able to run at all because of the long effects of COVID until about September-ish time, it feels good. Got to work to get under 21 minutes now. I have a dream of one day running sub 20 but it will probably be beyond me.
At 49 I have to remind myself that my 16:30 at the age of 19 as a skinny runner is no longer possibleRan my fastest 5k yesterday at 21.45. That is insane!!!At 49 I have to remind myself that my 16:30 at the age of 19 as a skinny runner is no longer possible
It was only a 3 mile race so not 5k but still. I finished 2nd as well. The winner who was also a teenager from memory ran 15:30!!!!!That is insane!!!
I also did a 27:10 5 mile in my timeIt was only a 3 mile race so not 5k but still. I finished 2nd as well. The winner who was also a teenager from memory ran 15:30!!!!!
It was also a fast route round banner lane where Massey running club was based
It has to be 7 different routes up hills. I have rectory drive, rye piece both ways, regent street and marston. But that’s only 5 and the relative gain is pants. It depends on your definition of a "good hill"...
In Bedworth i can only really think of Rectory Drive, which is several hundred metres bottom to top.
There's more in some of the Cov housing estates, but the best one in Cov for me is the Medical Block Hill at Warwick University, which is only just off the Gibbet Hill Road and (unsurprisingly) next to the Medical School at the top end of the Uni.
We do hill repeats on that one and it's a goodun'.
But doubt you'll find seven hills close to each other, would need to be repeats.
