Yes he must defend and he does, but his priority is to give us an attacking force.

This was my point on a previous post, if we are playing him as a wing back then we need adequate cover there. On another night or a better team we would have conceded, even Gillingham seen the gap down that side. This is nothing against Haynes, its about getting the right balance unless we are going for the 'you score one we score two' tactic of last year but sadly we no longer have the firepower for that.

I guess it's how you define 'silly' it's not as if we don't have a history in selling our assets pretty quickly. My definition of 'silly' would be someone who stepped inside sixfields thus funding sisu and, prolonging our return 'home' how was sixfields nick ?

haynes gave their winger loads of space at the back, sometimes he was jogging to the ball whislt their winger sprinted and it led to issues that could hurt us in future games.

silly to ignore these jsut because hes young, no one is slagging him off, just pointing out he aint perfect...........yet.

People do need to come back down to earth regarding Haynes. He's clearly got some ability and has performed well so far, but getting the ball out of your feet and swinging in a cross is hardly revolutionary. Pugh already has three assists this season and I would be very surprised if Elvis didn't rotate them. The ones overhyping him now are the same people that will slate him for a bad performance, he's very young and as he will be staying grounded, so should we.

McGlashan played right midfield previously for Cheltenham and has done so far for Gills. Also I want to hear more about this O'Neill lad we've signed??

I don't think me attending Sixfields has any relevance to the word 'Silly' in essence all I did was support the team, it was another day for me and thankfully I won't have to do it again.

Back to Ryan Haynes, if would be silly to sell him off or talk of such after 4 games, Bigi for instance had a season before rumours started..

Yes I agree with the Christie and Biggi comment but we still let them go when they would have been good squad players for us. IMO
With any other player who said they would go to a premiership team?

If you like at the handful of young players signed by big premier league clubs (Walcott, , oxlade chamberlain) even they played more games for the original club.

Its better to lower expectations to a realistic level surely? Christie I am convinced was over played and over hyped in his first season and ultimately struggled to find a club. Bigiamara also has an uncertain future.

I think people are just trying to be sensible and cautious.
