I think if Kent goes back TM might alter tack a bit and move away from 2 wide players and one up front to a more solid midfield and possibly 2 up front he won't have failed to notice we have been sussed a bit, he has recruited a midfielder in Andy Rose plus we have Maddison returning and Joe Cole and Gael Bigiriamma. We need a centre forward.
Why are people so excited by Lameiras? One goal and 3 assists all season.
We're talking about football. Lameiras is clearly a star and you must have a short memory if you forget how well he and Maddison linked up at the start of the season!

Aye, but his starts have been limited. What are Kent's stats?
1 goal and 1 assist. Lamaries has started 3 more games than Kent.
Assists can be a little misleading too. Kent has been wasteful in really good positions, but Lameiras has put a few really great through balls that have been wasted by the recipient, so any good work there goes unnoticed stat wise.

You seem to be forgetting the set up at the start of the season and how successful that was...Maddison and Lameiras linking up again...magic!!!
Only 100%? That's pretty feeble in terms of football parlance.Agree with this 100%

Yep, I think Flash Harry magazine gave him 11/10 once and All Fur Coat and No Knickers magazine had him as MOTM in every game he appeared in and then also in some games where he didn't appear at all in as well. Some of the balls that have been played by Lameiras are world class and he has been Motm as well did Kent ever get a Motm performance. ?
I don't know how we can miss him if he didn't do anything.I liked Kent think he has great potential....people will start to miss him once he has gone. But it might mean Lameiras gets a bit of a run which will be good.

He does have potential, but all we saw were tiny fragments and that one goal apart, his shooting was terrible , his crossing all but non existence and his greediness frustrating.
I can't see how we are going to miss him. Miss his one assist and one goal in sixteen matches?
I think we can loan in a player who will benefit the team more to be honest.
People keep saying Klopp doesn't like loans but apparently they have nearly 20 players out on loan. What are they all going to do? They won't be getting much in the way of game time thats for sure.

Yeah, that was my initial thought too, that he would be on the bench and I think that may well be the case, but I can foresee him getting game time tomorrow.Be amazed if he plays vs Crewe if he's going back. Unnecessary risk of injury to him and no point us playing him when we are not exactly short of midfield options

The recall isn't anything to do with Liverpool being short on numbers, or struggling in the league, it's just the natural expiration of a loan period.
I don't think he will start, but I do expect to see him at some point during this game.
I do see where Klopp is coming from as in playing all the youth players together in u21s so they move up together. Like Germany did over the last so many years, and eventually won the world cup.
However, I don't see how u21's is more beneficial than playing men's football.
Time will tell I guess, and possibly every club will follow Klopp's idea?

If Klopp thinks Kent is ready for first team football in the Premier League then he simply cannot have seen the lad play for us.Klopp have had little to do with what´s in place now in terms of loan arrangements.
All this has been sorted (from what I can tell) by the Academy Director Alex Inglethorpe and his staff. He is very much critical of the u21s league, which is seen as dysfunctional and problematic because of big schedule gaps.
Liverpool, as Chelsea and City, have started stockpiling talent from across the British Isles and abroad, some obviously mainly as speculative investments. Buy cheap, try and build their value, sell at a profit.
Then you have the top tier talent (as they see it), rare players who will become 1st team material. More likely as squad players, but the odd one like Sterling will bypass the whole loan process and be a starter from an early age.
From LFC´s point of view, ideally, you´ll be out on loan way before you have turned 20, and the U18 sides are starting to look like u16/17s and the U21s at times like U19s.
Ryan Kent is going through a similar process like Jordon Ibe at Derby last year, recalled to become an impact player in a packed January schedule. The u21s league isn´t highly thought of in house, like I said, so if he´s recalled it´ll be to get minutes. Whether he´s ready or not.
There is still the emergency window and all that so I suppose he could head out on another loan in February... Klopp has apparently reacted to injuries to Divock Origi, Henderson, Ings and the chronically unfit Sturridge.
The stance on player management since Klopp came in has been clear: he is very sceptical of using any money in January as he goes by in assessing what he has at his disposal before the summer window.
So this is what Ryan Kent is heading into. Exeter in the FA Cup seems like a good place for him to start, loads of games coming up, fatigue must soon be kicking in with some players. There are lots of no 10 types at LFC who want a lot of the ball and lot of touches on it, if Kent (however raw) can offer something more direct, he is an asset. Possibly.

He's so raw and not even a first choice for us every week in the League One, let alone ready for starts in a league that's two divisions higher!
Inglethorpe may have arranged the loans in the first instance but it is Klopp that people are quoting as being against the loan system. If you take that through to its logical conclusion they will stop sending players out on loan so the question remains. What will they do with all the extra players?
Is he being recalled early, in which case according to FL regulations Liverpool will have to pay us compensation, or is his loan not being renewed? If it's the later his loan doesn't expire until 16th January. The remaining January games then are Man United, Norwich away a week later and a League Cup semi final second leg. Not sure that's when you want to be throwing him into the first team.
Totally agree Otis, he is nowhere near ready for PL football. If Klopp, or anyone else from Liverpool, has been watching him and thinks he is their fans should be concerned about their judgement!
