Coventry's Sam McCallum named FLW Fans' Championship Player of the Month for April
Coventry City defender Sam McCallum has been named FLW Fans' Championship Player of the Month for April after winning an impressive 47% of the fan vote.footballleagueworld.co.uk
I agree and it has been a mystery to me why so few seem to see it. In my view only O'Hare has played as well consistently. He has played well consistently all season long. 3 or 4 bad games doesnt change that

And yet most wanted Giles ahead of him!
It comes down to some fans being bitter he is a loanee and not our player anymore. Any bullshit about wingbacks and passing is just outright lying.I agree and it has been a mystery to me why so few seem to see it. In my view only O'Hare has played as well consistently.

He's not perfect. Same applies to O'Hare. But both have been consistently good all season. It comes down to whether you see wingback as primarily an attacking or defensive position. Defensively he’s great, but he’s almost as poor going forwards as Giles is defensively.
You need a Dabo who is a balance of both, two half left wing backs does not a whole left wing back make.
And?His pass completion rate is 59% .
His pass completion rate is 59% .
42% in the oppositions half. Dabo’s is 60% for comparison. Long pass: 24% to Dabo’s 41.5%.
It’s not just that either, he so often misses the forward pass and checks back to the defence. His crossing is poor.
That said, he’s excellent in the air and in the tackle. He’ll make an excellent left back, but he’s not a wing back and we need better quality on the ball in a key position, same at CB.
And?
I'm not slating him , I'm just pointing out that he's not been consistently good .
He has been over the last 4 or 5 weeks
His xg is better than dabos. A good thing for a wing back no?Well that's below what you expect , you just said you ain't having it about his passing ...but his passing stats show that he's a bit sloppy to say the least

Lol sounds like you thibk hes fucking shit mate.Expected goals?
Don't know I'm mostly in agreement with shmmeee about him , apart from I see him as rash defensively at times .
Probably an age thing
His passing is definitely sloppy at times too .
Hes Been good lately though
Not sure hes ever going to be top tier , but he's a decent enough player

Be brave and just say it
Crazy hes winning awards then. You need to tell them where they got it wrongWhat I said , is exactly what I think ...to the word
If I thought he was shit , I'd say covcity4life , he's fucking wank mate

His progression is excellent. Season on season.McCallum is inconsistent. He was collosal in the 3 games that got us safety. Was very good when he first came back, but he had an 8 game period where his form fell off a cliff. He is young and will get better, not sure Norwich will work out for him mind...
Norwich farmed him out to a fellow Championship club ffs.
What does that even mean?
The best team in the league loaned a player out to one of the weaker teams in the league, and that's supposed to be an insult to the player?
You have a talent my friend- everytime you post it makes you look more clueless than before.Generally clubs don't loan out promising young players to a competitor in the same league if they thought he would be anything but a detriment - which he has been. If he was good enough he would have been in their squad.

God help us if people on here believe McCallum is the answer because he's had a few good games recently (the entire team has played well recently). Norwich farmed him out to a fellow Championship club ffs. They obviously don't care for him/don't rate him.
We aren't a competitor to Norwich. Totally opposite ends of the league. McCallum obviously couldn't play against Norwich so couldn't contribute to taking points off them.
He could, however, take points off Norwich's rivals thus improving their standing - which he did.
Or the points we took off Watford and Bournemouth. You are a seriously bad WUMI'm sure Norwich fans are thrilled about those points we took off Blackburn away a couple of months back.
If he's progressing season on season and is such a good player, surely he'll play in the Premier League next season? Fact is he won't, and will never, barring an injury crisis at Norwich. Thanks for a good few games Sam, but head back to League Two and find your level mate.
