Share stories here!
My most fearful away day I was sat with the Leicester fans at Filbert Street. Think we beat them 3-1 with Whelan scoring in the last minute! I was only a puppy! Had to make a hasty retreat from the stand at full time, with a few of the lester locals shouting gormless obscenities at me!

Was going up anyway as I've got family there, but it turned out one of their season tickets was going unused so I was behind the goal on a freebie near the drummer. Luckily (I'm really stretching the definition of luck here) we were terrible and gave me absolutely no cause to blow my cover, although when the slightly mad chap a few seats across kept trying to talk to me about how 'shit this lot are' and 'aren't they a waste of time?', I wasn't sure if it was camaraderie or he was trying to out me in some kind of sting operation. I just fobbed him off with a 'what are you gonna do?' shrug and kept schtum.

I also got in with the Blackpool fans for their playoff final, which was nice as I could legitimately enjoy that, although not as much as everyone crying around me.

Having been born and bred in islington my whole family are gooners one of my distant relatives is married to pat rice... Well I was in Liverpool in 1989 in the kop with one of my best mates and his whole family all. Scousers and when Thomas scored in the last minute I automatically jumped up to shout yes which quickly changed to you cockney twat in my best mock scouse accent... As 10,000 people turned my way .... Although they were gutted at loosing the title the still take the poss to this day at the colour I turned ...

The dreaded 1970's...Wolves v Liverpool.

My family had driven to relatives in W'ton, arrived and my Wolves supporting cousin asked if I wanted to go with him to see Wolves v 'Pool.

We stood behind the goal - blinkin hot - so I take my jumper off - only to realise I had my Cov shirt on....ooooops.

Mercifully I was only about 10 AND Cov were having one of our 'no threat to anyone' stages - so those around me just took the pee and laughed.

Went to watch Newcastle at Leeds with a Newcastle supporting friend in division 2 in early 90s and as Newcastle were only allocated 1200 standing tickets we sat in the family stand. About 8 geordies in front starting singing and everyone around them started having a go, including the women and kids until they were escorted out. Fair to say we sat there for the rest of the game and said nothing.

I also once stood in the away end at Northampton with my Uncle (northampton fan) and my Dad in the pissing to watch us loose 1-0. Swear it was the heaviest rain i have ever seen. One of my worse away days ever!

Done it twice, Villa in 92 and Liverpool in about 99-00. Villa was in the Holte End and the actual hate aimed towards everything Coventry that day was unbelievable! Liverpool was in the Kop and completely different - I got figured out as being a Cov fan pretty early on. Liverpool won 2-0, we were awful (think it was the season we didn't win away) and both times Liverpool scored I had to stand up and clap with about 10 Liverpool fans around me coming and hugging me and ruffling my hair! It was actually a good laugh, thought it was funny even at the time, even though we lost!

Did anyone go to West Ham away when we won 1-0 with a David Busst goal? They were redeveloping both ends at Upton Park so we had seats in the stand and the segregation was leaving a couple of spare seats between us and the home support. I thought it was gonna turn nasty when some of us starting singing "You're shit and you know you are", but the mood was lightened when one of us replied "We're dead but we're staying up". The scariest moment for me was getting the tube back to Leyton, where I was living at the time, and the tube was full of West Ham fans looking for revenge.

Forest away in the early 90's when we drew 1-1 and Killer scored, Villa away when Moldovan scored that goal and I celebrated but not on my own as I realised there were Cov all around us in the Trinity stand. Old Trafford when we lost about 4-2 the season we got relegated, great seats on the half way line, Utd fans all around were more interested in the programme and their shopping bags. There is rarely any need following Cov, might have to do it for Crewe though.

I remember a Newcastle fan celebrating in the East Stand at HR after they scored after about 5 minutes. As the stewards took him away, he shouted something like "I'll miss the rest of our goals!"

He was right, they scored five that day!

My mate was born and raised in Peterborough but now lives in Essex. Good few years back we all decided to go on a trip back to his roots and go to Peterborough for a night on the lash and as Posh were at home to Blackpool we decided to go the game and stood on their main terrace behind the goal.

In our group there were 4 Cov fans, one Posh/Man United fan, 1 Norwich fan, 1 West Ham fan and a Yid. To say we got some strange looks was an understatement as it was clear from the start that we weren't Posh fans!!

No-one said a thing and the game was truly awful so we all fucked off at half time.

Over the years spent many away day in the other end for different reasons - Old Trafford 85 and 87 (cup) - jumped up when we scored both times as I couldn't care less then and nobody said a word. Same at Sheff Wed 87 Q/F was close to the City fans that time though. Been in the Burnley end a couple of times when Platt and Best got equilizers in 1-1 draws but sat very still when we scored. Youngest son who was with me aged 6 came close to singing the sky blue song but quickly had to shut him up .Blackpool last season was a nightmare as I take my two sons to matches (both Blackpool fans) and usually pleased for them when Blackpool win. This time was stunned and must have been the only one in the stand that just stood still in disbelief when we let 2 goals in in the last 3 minutes. Next time if we ever play Blackpool at the Ricoh on a Saturday it's the home end for me and they'll have to keep quiet

i remember loads of man u, liverpool, leeds fans in main stand at highfield rd, used to piss me off, i got thrown out of the home end at ipswich when we scored in the last minute to level! ipswich of course scored a winner as i was being dragged out

April 97 in the Kop @ liverpool when we won 2-1. It started the week prior with my mate telling me he had got two tickets and coach to anfield, did i want to go? of course! i realised his mistake when turning up at the Rocket pub for the coach surrounded by fans in Red??? turns out it was the Coventry/Warwickshire liverpool supporters club! We bought a couple of silly red hats at the ground to try and fit in and sat in the Kop in stunned silence as Whelan and Dublin won the game for us. Kept stum on the coach back as well. Was also in the North stand upper tier at Villa park when moldovan won it for us there! couldnt contain myself and when stacks of fans jumped up around me revealing their true colours, the releaf that we werent the only ones was fantastic. Great times and memories.

lol we just finished jumping about to see counago rattle the winner in. soon stood still then!
once went in the forest stand with a few mates. went in 1-0 down at ht with harewood missing an open goal. Juan Sara popped up in the 87th minute with an equaliser. after a few suppressed yes's i think we were sussed but nobody said anything

Done it a few times in Leicester - but like some have said already not much to worry about getting cover blown as most of the time we were shocking anyway... B'ham once was bloody scary though as managed to get sandwiched between opposing fans at the end of the game outside at got mistaken for a blue nose - as there were way more of them than us I put on my best B'ham accent and hoped for the best....

Best of all as taking my Gordie mate to see Newcastle away at Derby - in with them and I have to say it was one of the best games I ever went to - toon army were really awesome - funny, friendly and good natured - away bars sold out of beer and hour before the game and they ended up raiding all the home bars to cover - some of the best signing and chanting ever even when they were losing - they won 3-2 in the end and the place went mental - great day

Took my Mrs of the time to watch her first Football match which was between Exeter City and Bristol Rovers at St James Park with a few friends.. Sat in the home end, Exeter threw away a 1-0 lead and Rovers went 1-2 up and my Mrs started cheering for Bristol Rovers by mistake when they scored their second, I can't use the words on here that I did that day but was so embarassed.. Home fans glaring at us from all angles Oops!

Done it at Crystal Palace with mates when we won 1-0, we cheered when we scored, got a few comments nothing more. They got a penalty late on and Oggy saved it, they were winding us up when they got it, oh how that back fired, luckily their main stand so only old boys in there. Villa last day season we needed a win to stay up, lost but so did notts county so we stayed up. Got cheap coach ticket to Leeds turn out to be a Leeds UTD supporters coach, ribbed all the way up, dead silent on the way home after a nice 3-1 win

If its the same game it was Owen and they had David Thompson playing, had a stereotypical scouser next to me with pin badges all over his coat grabbing me when they scored, my liverpool supporting friend was pi$$ing himself!!!

Have never been in the away end there as it is too cold. Got noticed last time we played there when we got the winner as I was the only one celebrating in the whole stand. Jumped on my second eldest lads foot whilst celebrating. He is a GTFC STH. When I sat down I got a tap on my shoulder. Got ready for a bit of fun when I saw a line of old people behind me. An old lady told me they were all Cov fans but too scared to celebrate. I had family and friends looking for me as I lived 20 mins away. A few saw me celebrating

Sat in the away end at the Ricoh

I have actually sat in the away end at the Ricoh.

My Newcastle supporting mate rang to ask if I fancied going to see Cov Newcastle in the cup back in 2008 [I think] I just assumed that he would get tickets in the home end, as he is not exactly I died in the wool geordie, and I thought he would struggle to get tickets in the away end.

It was only on the night hat I found out that he had actually got tickets with the Newcastle fans. I was going to cut my losses and buy a ticket in the home end, but working on the assumption that we would be as shite as usual I went and sat with the toon army.

Everything was going fine until we scored in the 90th minute. It was the worst moment of my life when I realised I had no chance to celebrate the goal.

about 10 of us sat in the leicester end at filbert street in the upper tier behind the goal in 1994 and I actually wore my city shirt (although i was only 11)! we drew 2-2, Wegerle and Dublin scored (Wegerle's was a peach) and we went up for both goals. We took a little bit of stick but when i think back I can't believe it didnt kick off more than it did.....was gutted when the six fingered bastards equalized right at the end. I'm pretty sure Gary Gillespie was sent off for us in that game, not sure if he ever played for us again.

Sat in the home end at Watford (the Rookery) with a teacher friend that supported WFC to see us lose 4:0. When leaving bumped into two of my students that supported WFC who thought all their Christmasses had come and once!
