It's been a while since I've been to a home game (work, family, location - excuses, excuses) Season ticket this year! Must be mad.
Anyway, me and three/four pals from Liverpool are coming down (they've adopted City as their second team) Where are the best places to drink these days? We are arriving at about 12 and I was going to stay in town? Any ideas?
PS - If you hear Scouse accents - they're friendly! They did get some looks at Wembley!
Has it had a refurb too then? Not sure if the Philip Larkin (was the Tudor Rose) has improved.
My guess is with a name change to the Philip Larkin, the clientele has changed too!!

The Brittania Hotel near the swimming pool. It's incredible. I think CAMRA will do a feature soon.
Bloody hell. I stayed there a few years back. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
Thanks for the suggestions! Cherry Tree might be the one. Is the Coach and Horses still there?

He was one of a few Cov fans I knew who were Liverpool based. Are you planning on many away games this season?Small world! No mate. On the train back from Wembley there were a few Liverpool based City fans though.

Used to love that pub when I lived in Coventry.Cheers, I used to go in on a Friday night to the disco upstairs when it was the Tally Ho! it could get a bit rough in there too.
I was frequently in Reflections. Guaranteed to get in whatever you was wearing. So if you was on an all dayer you didn't have to waste time going home to get ready. Quite frequently free entertainment as well :smuggrin:What about the Dossers disco across the road,Good old Reflections!!

Depends what you want but town won't be exactly rock and roll at that time of day.
Quick amble down to the Litten Tree for one, then one in the Squirrel, walk round to the Castle and then Weatherspoons (Lloyds), possibly the Golden Cross for one, then show your Scouse mates the real Cov by taking them to the other Weatherspoon's, then the Cov Cross, Club Release and The Tudor Rose (or whatever they are all called now).
Alternatively, The Cosy Club, Ivy House, Drapers and then The Phoenix is a little more sedate.
Are they not Red or Blue?:happy:Probably mate yeah. Got a few Liverpool lads that come with me for the day out more than anything (definitely not for the amazing football on show)
