You would get much more credibility if you got nothing for it and turned down all offers of hospitality and made it clear that you have a goal to represent ordinary fans. Just keep it pure. Voice for the fans.

No perks, no favours, no improper friendships - just man from stands representing popular opinion.

Trust me, if you start getting any of the above - people will lose faith. Make a stand, turn them all down politely.

There you go... this form a man who thinks your organisation is tosh! (I have a kind side too - but I still think you'll get tempted by the offerings and start agreeing to 'confidential conversations')
