Sky Blues in the Community’s current BTEC academy teams are continuing their excellent season in the National Football Youth League. Warwickshire College (at the time of writing) are currently sitting top of the table, after beating the likes of Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Sunderland so far this season. The SBitC team have put themselves in a fantastic position going into the final 10 games.

Our Henley College team are also having an excellent season and are sitting 3rd in the table, just 3 points off the top. The majority of the team are in their final year of studying at Henley and are displaying a fantastic team ethos to be putting themselves in with a chance of silverware at the end of the season.

Education Manager, James Woodhouse, who oversees the BTEC Academies said: “We’re really pleased with the progress Warwickshire College and Henley College have made so far this year. The hard work from both the players and the coaches is paying off and we hope to see them continue to battle it out at the top of the league as we move into the final stages of the season.”

Sky Blues in the Community work in partnership with two local colleges in Coventry and Warwickshire to provide students aged 16-19 years old an opportunity to study a full-time BTEC course, whilst also representing Coventry City in a professional football club colleges league.

The BTEC sport courses offer those with an interest in working in the sports and leisure industry an opportunity to study a range of topics that will provide students with the skills and experience for a possible career in sport.
Sky Blues in the Community also offer an opportunity for students to benefit from sports industry work experience – shadowing our coaches in some of the 200 sport and community sessions that we deliver each week.

If you interested or have any questions about the academy’s, please contact our Education Manager, James Woodhouse or call 024 76786 371.
