Not comparable.

The reason we are a mid table side is because of the lack of fight, desire and mental strength. It's not quality (besides Collins and arguably JDS). We were plod a long this season picking up a win or two and that is the making of a midtable side.

Pompey battered us today because they had the fight and desire but it can be hard to keep that up when you've got poor players. Hence why they got smashed to pieces at Derby.

It absolutely is comparable

I know plenty of Brum fans and they palmed off the talk of relegation until April last season and look what happened

We cannot do the same, the way these players keep making the same basic, shit errors and the way they seem incapable of putting a run of form together means they cannot be trusted to not get us into a relegation battle

The only thing that is not comparable is the fact that they are in a much better position to get back than we would be

It's very much not season over as this league changes very fast with 3 wins in a row. Sadly the issue seems to be we can't win 2 games in a row let alone 3!

I didn’t watch much of today (only the first 30 mins) so I’ve only seen the goals … but Thomas is still a decent enough player for me. It’s left back and other CB I have the issue with. What on earth has kitching done to not get a sniff …

I defended Collins a lot but Yh, today was enough for anyone.

I would say, there are shitter teams than us, rather than "we're too good".

That being said, the second half is deeply concerning.

More than a bad day at the office, we didn't even look like we cared about thinking about trying.

One of them beat us 4-1 today.

Worse squad than ours. It would take a disaster even bigger than theirs last season for us to happen. There's some seriously dire sides in this division.

We are very good at picking up a win or two every few games. Unfortunately that's midtable stuff.

And, as mental as it sounds, if Bassette scores that second we probably go on to do what Derby did to them last week...

You know, I’m not sure about this. As well as a lack of mental strength I see very little quality. Whether it’s a lack of desire/resilience, or just lack of ability, the majority of our players look bang average or worse. When I look at our team and ask myself ‘which of these individuals would walk into Sheffield U or Burnley’s best team, or even Sunderland’s‘, I can’t see many. At the moment, maybe Wright if he’s fit, maybe, I can’t see anyone else at the moment. Our squad has players who are much of a muchness, which is why Managers find it hard to know which is our best 11. So for me, the key for this season is to avoid relegation, hopefully finishing mid table, and using the January, and in particular the close season window, to allow Frank to build a competitive team. We need to give the Manager time, he’s inherited a low to mid table team, and needs time and patients to put things right. Sorry to be negative, it won’t stop me from supporting the team and Manager, and hoping for the improvements we need.

I think most of us would take mid-table now if it was offered. January is notoriously a bad window and hopefully we can get a couple of experienced heads in to steady the ship or on loan. I won’t point the finger at Lampard as he has inherited a week minded squad with no leaders and needs at least 3 transfer windows in my opinion.

We got 15 points from 14 games under Robins and 9 points from 8 games since. To stay up, we need a minimum of 26 points from 24 games. The team isn’t up for it, so there’s no guarantee we’ll get those points.

Usually 44/45 points keep you up, but it's still going to be a struggle for us unless the defence improves.

Unless we can put together a cup run which at the moment seems unlikely. Sheff Wed (who have a really top manager) are playing so well, so we look royally screwed.
The players on paper are ok but the form and desire seems to be lacking.

I really couldnt give a toss about the cup. We are in a relegation scrap and survival is the only priority because relegation would be an absolute disaster again for this club. Seriously who gives a toss about a cup run this season

Honestly don’t know how people are ruling out a relegation scrap. The teams we’ve lost against, the generally weak demeanour of the squad, we scraped past Oxford and Hull.

I don’t know if it’s just blind pride, but take off your sky blue goggles and look at what’s going on.

So is it?

Losing to wank teams like Derby, Weds and Pompey.

We’re far too good to go down but not consistent enough to charge up the table.

Rebuild season and get rid of a lot of shite.

No buys in Jan when prices inflated and Save the money for the Summer?

With this side as it stands I wouldn't want to go into the last few games needing to get a few points to get over the line.

We won’t go down. We’ve been fucking terrible and never really bothered the relegation zone. We’re going to finish 12-17th the next few seasons before Doug gets bored though.

Yeah, as it stands and if we continue to keep playing Collins and Dasilva.

We just have to believe we will strengthen in January.

I think we will be absolutely fine.

We have 3 more league games before the cup game, 6 or 7 points from them and we will be looking forward too it. Less than that then I agree, play the kids as a long winter awaits.

For us yes but for teams around and below they could still make a run at the play offs.

Bang on there!

We need to do what we can to get Binks, Collins, Thomas, Dasilva out the club.

We will be either relegated or just avoiding it if we continue with these 4 at our club.

It's not their fault at all, it's Austins and/or Robine fault for scouting and signing them.

They are and will forever be league 1 talent.

Its not fair on every single fan that has paid good money to attend games, purchase shirts, travel huge distances and all the expenses that comes with that. I feel sorry for every fan that got up at 5 this morning and drove down there, only to be handed that back, that's their Saturday gone.

Enough is enough.

We the fans need to do everything we can to get these 4 players to want to leave our football club. They won't leave because they won't get better wages elsewhere, unless we make it miserable for them.

Might sound harsh, but being on 10 grand a week and putting in the worst of the worst performances like that is to me 10x worse.

Fairplay to every fan who travelled down their today, hats off lads

Dean Austin wasn’t even here when we signed those 4. Binks technically but I don’t he scouted him given he was playing for us.

Pretty sure he was - he joined us in late 2022 and those players were signed in 2023.

If you think we're in any danger of relegation you can get 80/1 on us to go down with bet365. Lump on surely?

I don’t think we’ll go down.

We do have quality in the squad and it’s absolutely a mental thing at the minute. Plus a weak keeper and LB.

It’ll be a boring mid table finish and that feel good factor around the club continues to diminish.

We just aren't good enough, fight and desire is part of being a good enough.

Binks, Thomas,, Dasilva, Collins are not good enough, quality isn't there, they lack everything needed at this level. In league 1 they would all play to a much higher level, this is because the general talent pool, quality and ability is lesser as is theirs.

We are in for a relegation battle unless major surgery is done to that back line.
We can't just hang on to EMC and Wright coming up with magic to win us games they simply won't.

Unfortunately we have EMC, Wright. Sakamoto and Simms who for me are top players, players that are without doubt a group that could push us top 8 or 9 in this division.

But our complete back 4 is league 1 level.
