season ticket sales (1 Viewer)

I wish they would sort the comments out, they give PR people free reign on there.

Any outsider reading them would think thats what ccfc fans actually think.

This can be seen as a positive, so it will be a special one!

Back to the topic, it is a good number so far. I am not sure we can sell another 2k but it would be great if we did!

Without knowing past trends on ticket sales its hard to say if this is particularly good or not.

I'd imagine after the end of early bird we will sell no more than a few hundred

I seem to recall at the end of the EB last season we were at 4900 and went on to sell 5700 by the time the season started.

Tried to buy for me and my lad earlier but was disappointed to find that his junior ticket can only be purchased with a jsb membership. A little misleading I thought, still i tried to buy for me and him but then I couldn't set his membership up on the site and there is also no way of taking the monthly option online. I have to say if the club want us to buy online all options should be available online. Looks like a trip to the Butts.

Would be great to push the season ticket sales up and show all involved that coventry city has a fanbase that won't sit quiet in the background while all the off field rubbish goes on.

I have for the first time brought my daughter a season ticket and will take her with me to each home game.

My hunch is that a lot will have signed up on the 10 monthly instalment option which wasn't available last season. 4 of us buying ours this morning, creeping ever closer to that '10% discount'... Whatever that actually means.

Yeah, this is a bit of frustration, although £25 quid for a ST is a snip. My mate is in the same boat, he can't purchase the JSB ST online, so was all set to go up today but it is closed and he won't be able to get up there this week. But I think you can do it over the phone and then you have to send the birth certificate by post. Last year I actually took my lad up, who barely comes up to my knee, but they wouldn't sell me a JSB ST because I couldn't prove his age.

You have to send the birth certificate off my lad is 14 so for the block I was looking at the price went from £69 to £94. Guess I will have to phone, I was going to go to the Butts today but as it's closed until Tuesday I won't be able to because of work. Makes it difficult when trying to buy in the same place as others.

I don't know for sure. Think they'll sell it and then just say you'll have to present it later, either send it or call in the the TO at some point and show it just so they can confirm. Just going by what happened last season but might be different this time.

Best to take a good book with you then.
Because I couldn't find any answers to my questions on-line, one of them being seat availability, I went to the Butts on Thursday. A queue of just 6 in front of me gave me a wait of 50 minutes, this was due to only "one" member of staff being at the desk, and she is about to be made redundant after 23 years of service!! The chap that came in after me, on weighing up the waiting time and then learning that his Senior ST in block 19 was going to cost him over £270 and not as he believed £230 walked out saying he wasn't going to renew after all.
One of my questions was also about membership for next season. We didn't renew our ST's last year preferring membership and match pkt deal and it worked well for us. Last season "Membership" gave the same status as season ticket holders regarding priority ticket sales. There will be no "membership" for 16/17 except for JSB's.
Match packages were not currently available but it was thought that they would be offered at some stage.
So the choices were to go to games on a match by match basis, applying for tickets on-line or getting in the queue at the Butts............or a ST.
The lady at the desk set up my account with our preferred seats and when I got home, and after a chat with Mrs Wheelfass, I logged on to my account, added them to my basket and pressed GO. Sorted, season ticket holders again.

You also get perks being in the JSB, a free gift, discount vouchers for the shop, holiday clubs, the free Xmas part which was rammed and really too last year, birthday and Xmas card from the club, etc

So you get that and a free ST ticket for £25. I've renewed both my lads.

a rather controversial....

"great news. The more season tickets we can sell, the more noise we can make and the more we can cheer on the team and ignore the off field issues"

Very strange, I saw one guy get hammered for saying "I hope we can get 3 points at the weekend". Red thumbs all over the shop.

It's a horrible place full of knuckle-draggers. This is pretty standard for a comments sections on a news site - but some of the stuff on their is very questionable. It is so damaging also because it gives a very warped impression.

I tried posting there many times - but you are fighting a losing battle and they are so persistent - comments are jumped on within minutes. Not sure where they get the time from.

Made the mistake of using my twitter ID to post too, and got a few abusive messages from were clearly fake twitter accounts. All very suspicious if you ask me.

Have told the wife (think she understands) that me and my lad are having STs
this season, don't normally as its a 350 mile round trip.
Managed 13 home games last season and will hopefully manage a few more
this time , I'm doing this simply cos my club has never needed me more.
Just wish people who live in Coventry could get there head around what
they stand to lose , they'll be crying when it's to late .
Also it will guarantee me play off tickets. :)

It is frustrating. There are so many people I know who care about the club - but not quite enough to actually support them in person regularly. The first thing I talk about on Monday morning at work is the football club - I'll spend the first half hour talking about the city. Pretty much everyone at work who comes from Cov is a city fan, and yet between them they only do a handful of games a season. I get that the years of let down have sucked the enthusiasm out of people, but it is very frustrating when you think of what we are going through now and how much they are needed.

I've still yet to work out what it is people do on a Saturday afternoon that is preferable to going up the game.
