who in their right mind buys a "seat" that they want to stand in, a few rows in front of the standing sectionSome people who would love to sit in the South Stand (including me) have been put off by the uncertainty about standing, and decided to purchase elsewhere. The club will no doubt say that standing will only be permitted at the back (in the safe standing areas) but lots of fans seem to be assuming they'll get away with standing in the seating below there. Makes it hard for both types of fans to know what they'll be buying into.
Someone who has been in that seat for about 20 years?who in their right mind buys a "seat" that they want to stand in, a few rows in front of the standing section
Yep equally as mental if that's what they've wanted now they can - but lets not carry on then!Someone who has been in that seat for about 20 years?
We have done this to death already
No because it's only in the South Stand (+ corner) that people (at least on here) have stated that they are expecting to stand in the seating area to generate an atmosphere. I can't speak for the club, but I guess their policy is that standing will not be allowed other than in the allocated safe standing areas. If so, I'm not sure that they have explicitly said it, and clearly it will be very hard/impossible to implement. Hence the leeway for people to assume it won't be enforced, and the uncertainty it causes in choosing where to buy an ST. I fancied Block 10, but have played safe by going elsewhere. But surely that applies everywhere in the stadium?
Cant believe how sparse the south stand is looking. We really are going to fuck this up aren’t we?

For the record, I am massively in favour of people standing at matches if they want to, and City fans being behind both goals with Away fans confined to a corner. I'm really glad the club is working to enable all these things. Issues will only really arise if people stand in front of those who've paid to sit down. Ultimately I think the safe standing is probably going to need to be expanded to reflect the reality of where people want to stand.
i think now they will have standing areas i wouldn't be surprised if they started to ask people to sit down in the seated areas.
can't see how they will enforce it, but expect them to ask.
ultimately, people will go where they want to. but i am a little surprised people haven't moved out of the corner to behind the goal.
the corner flag isn't that interesting.

The unknown here is how the SAG will act. Now they've allowed a standing area will they be putting pressure on the club to enforce the regulations in other parts of the ground, that could even have been part of the agreement. Give the OK to safe standing on the understanding there will be little tolerance for standing in seating areas.i think now they will have standing areas i wouldn't be surprised if they started to ask people to sit down in the seated areas.

kick 'em out. What if fans in the standing area decided to sit down , would the SAG make them stand up ? Asking for a friend
"Sit down if you love Citykick 'em out.
no place for that sort of radical behaviour in the modern game.
as a treat...But everyone has their human rights .
Next thing all woman will have to have a stand up peeor men a sit down pee , who’s going to police that ?
There could be all sorts of reasons why they couldn’t do it.There’s no way they will be able to police a whole block standing. I was going to move for this reason but am staying put now.
It’s their own fault if people stand by not putting standing in the area everyone wanted it.
Bound to be Dublin! Is that the New York or Dublin end?
Wtf?!The fuss is this.....
A mate of mine has 4 STs.....himself plus his 3 kids
1 of those kids is 5 so can't go to midweek games
As a result, if one child can't go he has been told all tickets need to be put on the exchange and they have to sort tickets out elsewhere.
This is fuckin madness from our club!!
Nobody was consulted on that though were they? People in the corner were consulted re standing in the corner, for them to move it behind the goal. There could be all sorts of reasons why they couldn’t do it.
Didn't “everyone” want to be nearer the away fans?
Isn't that cup allocation virtually the one block ATM , Block 10 which is unsold so kind of irrelevant ATM.Nobody was consulted on that though were they? People in the corner were consulted re standing in the corner, for them to move it behind the goal.
There are multiple reasons why people like me do not want to move. FA cup games sitting/standing in part of stadium with no atmosphere (ruins the whole experience for me), I get on really well with the people around me and don’t want to be separated from the main stand. Not only that, the corner offers a better view than behind the goal imo.
I think I’m 4632.Any idea on ST numbers so far?
'We want to be by the away fans'
'We want to stand'
NOOOO, NOT LIKE THAT!
Honestly, some of the behaviour from our fans is embarrasing. If you want to stand, go to the standing section. Wanting to stay in the corner is just really odd and it's hardly the end of the fucking world. You'd all be back on here crying in August that there's been a cracking down two games in and you don't see how it's fair that you now have to sit down in a designated sitting down area, and the ones that are in the new section are somehow 'thinking they're all better than us'.
Some right fucking babies here.
They allowed that years ago. They opened it up for ST holders to use. That first line is the biggest one. There was uproar when they moved away fans to the far corner just 2 months ago.
They've allowed people to move closer than ever to a better spot behind the goal.
Eventually it will move over. Once the first match with a poor atmosphere, there will be an eagerness to move closer to the away fans.
The Premier Card?I think I’m 4632.
Thats fine, sit there then.Nobody was consulted on that though were they? People in the corner were consulted re standing in the corner, for them to move it behind the goal.

SAG could block allocation 15% to away fans on safety grounds if the works to enable the current proposals don‘t enable safe segregation at that higher number of away fans. I would have been inclined to have purposely designed in that way.Isn't that cup allocation virtually the one block ATM , Block 10 which is unsold so kind of irrelevant ATM.
