So did I and he had big job on his hands following Jimmy Hill's departure, and whatever your feelings on Cantwell he got us into Europe following a 6th position in the top flight. No I lived through the Cantwell era unfortunately and have a bloody good memory

I'm not sure he was exactly a legend, but anytime we get around to this conversation in the pub Stewart Robson's name comes up.
He was a Rolls-Royce of a player when fit.
Don't remember that. Away or at home?
What the hell! Ok, if you're going along them lines I would say Trevor Benjamin.I always that that paul telfer was massively underrated in the Strachan era

he was there in my 1st season (1974) but to be fair I was only 5 years so don't remember him that clearly !! A mention should be made of a couple others from that side - Graham Oakey & Dennis Mortimer (before he turned to the dark side)I don't know how old you are, Tisza, but we once had an ex Nottingham Forest left back play for us in the 1970's, I think it was Peter Hindley, who had the most enormous beer belly on him. It was a surprise he could even stand.
He was definitely bigger than Peter Barnes!
Ray pointer...if only for his Roy of the Rovers look!
I know he went down the pan but David Smith was fantastic 88/89.

What this thread does show me is with some of the names being mentioned is how old some of the posters on here are. I was worried I might be the oldest but at 48 i seem to be a bit of a spring chicken compared to some of you

Roy Barry was absolute class until he broke his leg against Sheff Wed I think....He would have gone on to really great things ...never the same player afterdown the pan?
had to be the fattest player I've seen play for the city - although a past-his-prime Bob latchford was close!!
Marcus Hall... you are fucking jokingMarcus Hall and Callum Davenport, really believe the later would of been a great defend for country and club if he was not advised badly and did some stupid shit.
