Just got back. Not a starting player can say they played well and if we've got Collins in goal for the rest of the season or Binks anywhere near starting then we're fekked. They're a better side than us so the result is forgivable but I fkn hate that lot. Would love Hamer and Ohare to do their ACLs before we play them at Wembley.

grimes okay. wright anonymous. saka anonymous. EMC hopelessly ineffective going forward and absent defensively. Binks was truly just awful, he tries but it was so unorganised and his positioning was poor.

torp had a poor game

they were just better

Imagine if he'd had players ahead of him running with the purpose and intent that their players did?

If we attacked like they did it would have been 8-1. We were so open every time to the counter and so ponderous going forwards I don’t think we troubled them once.

Our problem was really Torp, EMC and Sakamoto. Nothing was sticking with them they weren't building any momentum. So Wright, as we have seen in the past with Simms, struggled.

That combos ineffectiveness just kept our defenders under pressure.

I don't really take much solace from Rudoni's goal, because by then the game was won and United had their foot off the gas.

Strachan always said, it is easy to play your best football when the other team has already won the game.

I am afraid a lot to do with last night was down to Frank, Mason Clark was taking a night trip to outer space or somewhere he was just fucking awful, the midfield was way too light he needed to make changes a lot earlier but I guess it was because Rudoni and Sheaf are just coming back from injury, by the time they came on I had fucked off round the pub to have the piss took out of me for such an abject display, so I was more than a tad pissed off, especially because the cunts hadn't got guinness ...AGAIN... Haji had a few balls pumped to him, I bet he had wished he had a helicopter so he could have had more of a game and Binks is fucking crap...then we had 1 of the worst goalkeepers Ive ever seen in a Cov shirt come on ...what a fucking absolute belter of a night...NOT !!!!

They gave us a lesson on how to defend effectively. Totally killed anything we tried in the last third and turned Wright into a passenger.
Hamer is too good for the championship but we already knew that. Parachute payment is putting us at a real disadvantage.

Parachute payments exist for a reason, otherwise the gulf between Championship and Prem would be wider. Or contracts would distress too many clubs.

Some how, we have to make it so parachute payments are to our advantage. There are plenty of clubs around us and below us who have messed up the advantage of parachute payments. So it doesn't guarantee success.....

WBA, Norwich, Stoke, Watford, Reading, Wigan, Bolton.

I think Frank has exceeded expectations so far into his Coventry management but we all know that we need better players in various positions Thomas was paired with feckin Binks last night who needs to feck off back to Italy , Bidwell is our best left back but we need better, Jamie Allen has played very well just lately but we need better, Mason Clark thought he was auditioning for strictly come dancing we need better, Torp was still on international break...we definitely need better, dial a dick in goal when he came on must have scared the life out of the defence we 1 million per cent need better and Frank we were under the cosh we definitely need better from you to steady the ship when we are up against it, so like it or not parachute payments can buy us more expensive players but we can also do that with a class scouting team to an extent

Well the top three seem to be doing alright. They're miles ahead on points . I'm trying to find excuses.Let me be jealous please

They were a level above us in every department, the worrying thing is that they won't be anywhere near good enough for the premiership, the gulf in quality has become enormous in recent years.

Last night, players like EMC, Bidwell, Torp, Thomas and Binks were made to look like pub players Compared to the opposition.

The scary thing is that despite how much better than us they were, they were one of the most feeble top-flight teams in history the season before.

Some teams may have got fewer points, but have any offered so little resistance? They conceded over 100 goals.

That's the disparity that exists now.

They had an aging squad in top flight, they shunted a fair few out the door in the summer.

Many on here were crowing how crap Sheffield United were going to be this season, like Leicester last year and Burnley the year before 😂

But yes I agree, the gulf is massive and getting wider.

They were a lot better than us last night, but we were the better team back in the reverse fixture in November.

Team and formation didn't work, the midfield 3, and Haji down the middle.
Wilder prepared his team to nullify all our threats.

In hindsight Frank should have switched to a back 5, after the 2nd goal, and played Simms & Haji down the middle.

Thought Grimes was OK. I’m really undecided on Torp. He can have moments that influence games but isn’t involved enough in a lot of them either. Can’t blame the forwards. Had nothing to feed on. Just outplayed really

Grimes was genuinely superb first 20.
After that we fell apart.

They played through us far too easily, and we got punished.

Big players returning, lots to still play for, play offs still on!

Think we need better in the middle. Sheaf has lost his mojo and neither Torp nor Allen are quite the right profile. Need some quality box to box to complement Grimes and Rudoni IMO.

I think this shows that we are nowhere near Dirty Leeds and Scummy Blades in quality of performance. It remains to be seen how we compare to Burnley. It could all go to shit now, especially with that clown as first-choice keeper (although i don't think he did too much wrong last night and put in a couple of good saves). If we had played them straight after Sun'land it might have been different, but for some reason the international breaks (which i despise with a passion, by the way) always affect us worse than other teams.
