Apologies, don’t get a room.I was actually comparing it to his vitriolic post
Robins also felt there was a foul in the build-up to Shrewsbury’s winner but feels his team should have reacted quicker once the referee had made his decision.
Robins said: “It’s a disappointing result. First half we did okay, but we didn’t get a foothold in the game in the second half.
“We gave the ball away in poor areas and we looked tired and understandably so. There are no excuses, we just didn’t control the game well enough.
“We didn’t look like we were going to throw it away necessarily, I thought we might even score.”
“It was undoubtedly a foul on Callum O’Hare in the corner, but you have to deal with that decision and get back.
“We were committing more bodies forward and ended up getting sucker punched at the end.
“We weren’t good enough today and we haven’t said that except for the game at Rotherham this season.”
Having defeated Ipswich Town in the Emirates FA Cup in mid-week, Robins acknowledged that Shrewsbury looked the fresher of the two sides.
“They were fresh and had time to work on things in the week and that’s fair play. If you’ve got any slight advantage you try and make it count for yourself.
“I’ll look inwardly as well, I could have made changes earlier but ultimately, we needed to get a foothold in the game and that gives you an inkling to make a change for the better.
“We were okay, but we didn’t have that quality on the ball which didn’t give us the chance to get out and the decision-making was poor.”
Robins wants his team to learn from this defeat and hopes to get back to winning ways next Saturday against Lincoln City.
“We have to learn from this and move forward from it as you do with every defeat, I’m not going to be overly critical.
“We don’t want to lose games like that, and it needs to be a one-off and then get back on it, work next week, and try and get a win next Saturday.”
Yep-already said it elsewhere. He was ok till the head injury and the drop ball to the keeper and then seemed to go a bit wobbly from there. What were your thoughts on today’s referee? Agree with him watching McCallum on the floor for 2 minutes and then blowing his whistle just as Shipley was about to shoot? How about when he then have their keeper the ball to restart? Is that what the rules say? Or maybe the second yellow for Norburn that wasn’t given when he then booked Walsh straight afterwards for an identical challenge.
It does get tiresome criticising refs all the time, and I get why you might defend them, but surely you can see that we’ve had some stinkers this year? I’d rather not be able to criticise them, really.
Not personally saying that “it was the refs fault” but it really doesn’t help. Shrewsbury were pulling shirts (another one that Oggy and Eakin thought should have been a yellow but wasn’t given) and leaving the foot in from the start today, and they got away with it. Why?
Yep-already said it elsewhere. He was ok till the head injury and the drop ball to the keeper and then seemed to go a bit wobbly from there.
I must say that O’Hare went down fat too easily a couple of times and that is why he didn’t get the free kick on the edge of the area before their second goal.Im blaming O’Hare there I’m afraid.
What about the second booking the ref bottled?Yep-already said it elsewhere. He was ok till the head injury and the drop ball to the keeper and then seemed to go a bit wobbly from there.

Wasn’t a foul for me I’m afraid. Called it the same at the time and wasn’t a bit surprised there was no whistle.Foul is a foul buddy even if the player’s been crying wolf before. Drop ball was a new one for me though!
Couldn’t really see much from where I was to comment and would like to see it again. Did you see it from where you were clearly? What about the second booking the ref bottled?

Very clearly, kicked is legs away after he was beaten to stop him from getting away.Couldn’t really see much from where I was to comment and would like to see it again. Did you see it from where you were clearly?
It was a get out of jail card. He probably knew there would be a fracas if he gave us the ball and we scored. Most likely explanation would be he “thought the ball was in the area when he stopped the game”Was pretty close to it but each to their own. What do you think was going through his head with the drop ball?
Like I said-not from where I was as we were behind the goal-hence why I would like to see it again. Were you on the side in the stand?Very clearly, kicked is legs away after he was beaten to stop him from getting away.
Allen was booked for the same a minute later.
Doesn't shock me that a ref couldn't see it though.
Watch it back. Allen beats him and is taken out.Like I said-not from where I was as we were behind the goal-hence why I would like to see it again. Were you on the side in the stand?
A fracas if he played to the rules? It was a get out of jail card. He probably knew there would be a fracas if he gave us the ball and we scored. Most likely explanation would be he “thought the ball was in the area when he stopped the game”
Yes-Would like to see it again as I said. You clearly had a better view from what you are saying. Where were you watching from?Watch it back. Allen beats him and is taken out.
I see where your going with this lolYes-Would like to see it again as I said. You clearly had a better view from what you are saying. Where were you watching from?
My chairYes-Would like to see it again as I said. You clearly had a better view from what you are saying. Where were you watching from?
Ah, I see. Well yes then-you would have had a better view. Thought you were at the game.My chair
I did have a good view of it, I even rewound it a couple of times.
Naturellement.you mean l'insulte du jour surely Rodney
Waiting at a freezing cold station my thoughts were:
1. Neither side deserved to win, few genuine chances created.
2. SBA in generally good voice and a good atmosphere.
3. Inexplicable decision making by O’Hare when clean through.
4. Never seen a ref stop an attack dead then give the ball to the keeper. Ridiculous. O’Hare fouled right in front of me, not given then they score-neat assist by the ref there.
5. Biamou and Godden were stranded on their own. Even on the few times we broke their lines ,we flapped ours.
Very frustrating trip with a predictable outcome. Will not make the top 6 letting shit teams off the hook every week.
I’ve calmed down nowI was actually comparing it to his vitriolic post
Have a beer. There’s always next weekI’ve calmed down now
Pretty sure It was, Shipley had it, does it being in the area mean it goes to the keeper? I assumed it would go our way!It was a get out of jail card. He probably knew there would be a fracas if he gave us the ball and we scored. Most likely explanation would be he “thought the ball was in the area when he stopped the game”
Said the same at the game today, weve had some shocking referees this season but todays was by far the worst we have had in a very long time.In over 40 years watching the city it was the worst refereeing performance I’ve seen and the bar was a pretty low one.
People can blame players and tactics all they like but with that twat running the game we had no chance.
the injury incident was one of the strangest decisions i have ever seen
1 why allow attack to develop and stop when we are about to shoot
2 why at restart give the ball to them
3 given he was given ball the correct etiquette would be to put ball out of play so we regained possession
ref was poor should of been a sending off and missed foul om o,hare prior to 2nd goal, however we were not at our best and a win would of flattered think a draw would of been fair
